About the whole Obama founded ISIS thing. One can point out that Trump really just means that Obama left a vacuum, I guess. Though ‘founded’ seems to me to then be grossly misused in this case. However, the truly face-palming part of this is that Trump is on the record (2007 interview I believe) in which he wants a full blown withdrawl…Full on pick up and go. Uh, lol.
I liked Kasich but I would have voted for Rubio. I have always been NeverTrump and NeverHillary. That hasn’t changed at all. I’ll vote Gary Johnson.
I keep hoping that America is going to have a Libertarian moment. I feel like we’ve accepted regulation and rules that now govern every part of our lives. My daughter’s elementary school has so many rules about playground behavior. You will not run on the blacktop because falls could be dangerous. Tetherballs have been removed from the poles because they are dangerous. Dodgeball and Chase are against the rules. You can’t hang from the monkey bars upside down, or go backward on them. No soccer on the playground because the kids don’t have shin guards on during recess. On and on. They are being groomed to be good little drones who accept regulation over every aspect of their lives (and to appreciate the power of a good lawsuit to make everyone tremble and get in line.) This kind of thing isn’t what America is about.
I’ll be hopeful that the Republicans can maintain control of Congress.
And I’m starting to think that a party of more moderate people may form. My Independent son, my fiscally conservative Moderate Dem dad who feels like his party has pulled way too far left, and disillusioned Libertarian leaning Republicans like me. Maybe we’ll all end up in some new party.
Also, as a grown-up midwesterner…this is exactly the kind of thing that makes us hate liberals. This is why a lot of the hicks would rather ‘cling to their guns and religion’ and backwards ways…
And I don’t blame them. Or for that matter disagree lol.
No jumping out of the swings. No giving kids on the swings an underdog. No Red Rover because it’s too rough. Only one kid on the slide. You may not climb up the slide. No cartwheels or somersaults on the playground. I imagine they picture head and neck injuries. No softball or baseball bats allowed except during supervised PE. I am not kidding. It’s like a handbook for “how to raise kids to accept that they have ZERO personal freedom and rules regarding every aspect of life is normal.” They’ve learned this since they were in Kindergarten. It makes me want to give someone a big fat lip. Individual freedom? Who gives a crap about that? Let’s all be safe.
And we wonder why we have so many FAT kids. We’re raising a nation of FAT NERDS who think big brother is the norm. Remember kids, there’s no problem that can’t be solved by more rules and regulations.
Too bee honest, as of late, the loud Trump supporters are quieting down. The Trump supporters I know were fired up during the primary. Now I’m starting to wonder if they are even going to vote. There is a general malaise amongst them as if they are starting to realize how much they fucked the rest of the party.
Yes and no. Go look at political contributions for Trial Lawyers and the big Law firms.
They are very generous to the Democratic party. They pour huge money into it. Democrats favor lawsuits as a way to stick it to big business. Personal injury lawyers have provided tremendous funding for Democratic candidates. They are not interested in tort reform. They love the big class action lawsuit. They love personal injury cases. The more laws and regulations we have the better. Every infraction or harm is an opportunity to sue. Democrats love to stick it to big business but have a total blind spot when it comes to government taking away freedom or people being terrorized by our legalistic culture.
Re: Lawyers/ Law Firms. “In the 2014 election cycle, the industry contributed over $120 million to federal political candidates and interests, 70 percent of which went to Democrats.” opensecrets.org
Just one quick quote -
"A detailed Washington Examiner analysis of the top 110 plaintiffs’ firms in America shows that their employees and partners gave about $7.3 million to political campaigns during the last cycle, with almost every penny – 97 percent – going to Democrats. The remaining 3 percent was split almost evenly between independent Senate candidate Charlie Crist of Florida and Republican candidates for federal office.
The political action committee of the American Association for Justice, the trial lawyers’ top trade group, was equally friendly to Democrats, giving the party and its candidates 97 percent of AAJ’s $2.7 million in 2010 contributions."
EDITED: Sorry for the Threadjack. But yes, I’m hoping more Americans will wake up and choose freedom over this CRAP. Tort reform needs to happen.
One can manipulate facts. But in all fairness I did layout a short list of facts that are fairly irrefutable. These are things that Hillary has promised to do, things Obama has done and still other things that the democrat party stands for.
I mean…this is not rocket science my friend.
As for your support of Obama I’m still waiting for you to give me a nice long list of the many things that he has done correctly. I gave you a list a while ago of the things he has totally messed up.
You’ll be waiting a long time; because I’ve told you that I’m not playing that game of “Quote/Counter-quote”.
GOP/Conservatives= Peace, Prosperity, Love and Strawberry Fields!!!
OBAMA= The Evil, Muslim, Anti-Christ out to raise our taxes; take our guns; create discord among the races; support terrorism; and outlaw Apple Pie…all with the ultimate goal of Destroying America…
Nothing when you will not present your side of the story. I give you lists of things and you say “nu huh Obama is great.”
Um…okay if somehow believing that Obama is a good President helps you sleep at night, or erases some white guilt (hey who knows what’s going on inside your head) then go for it.
But please don’t get upset if I rain on your parade with a few facts.
I can’t like this post. There needs to be an angry face button or something…I’d have gone raving mad long ago trying to raise a kid in that environment
Sorry to bring you down, Aragorn. Yeah. We live in suburban SoCal. Most of the families that attend our neighborhood schools are either the children of progressive college professors, or the children of affluent immigrants from Asia and the Middle East. The progressives seem to just love all of these rules. I assume their soft hearts pondering a kid falling off the monkey bars ranks much higher than individual freedom in their moral matrix. Either that or they just accept the legalistic culture of risk avoidance as the new America. As for the people who have immigrated from China, I assume all the rules about every aspect of behavior make them feel right at home.
In other news, I’m having a blast in my Oly class. See, I’m not completely depressing.
