Presidential Vote: Have You Changed?

Oh!

Sorry, Duce! I didn’t catch that!

Never took a mathematical proof class, huh?

Things that are missing from my post to make that huge logical leap:
Actual percentage of working class supporting Trump.
actual percentage of Trumps supporters that aren’t white working class.
Any notion that people in other classes or voting any other way aren’t also ignorant.
Any specific correlation in my statement between individual types of Trump supporters and my statement to the exclusion of other types of supporters. It applied to all his supporters, even blacks, hispanics, liberals, New Yorkers, rich, poor, ets. [/quote]

Just because there are very small pockets of blacks, hispanics and liberals who support Trump doesn’t make my statement untrue. If I say Chinese people are short, that statement doesn’t become untrue because Yao Ming exists.

Secondly, anyone who pays even a passing interest in the election knows how Trump supporters are shown on TV. It’s always a white working class dude usually from a flyover state. You have a picture in your mind of who a Trump supporter is.

It’s really not the same at all. Obama’s voters are much more a diverse group of people and on top of that I rarely if ever hear people refer to Obama voters as idiots. It’s always a straight attack on Obama.

He immigrated to the Americas

“You have a picture in your mind of who a Trump supporter is.”

Oh really? Mind reader huh… Ok, what exact image do I have in my mind?

“It’s really not the same at all. Obama’s voters are much more a diverse group of people and on top of that I rarely if ever hear people refer to Obama voters as idiots. It’s always a straight attack on Obama.”

Well first off, I see you chose to ignore Hilary. But lets run through the logic. Obama voters are dumb, the vast majority of blacks voted for Obama, Therefore if you think Obama voters are dumb you think the vast majority of blacks are dumb. Therefore, If you think Obama voters are dumb, you are racist because you think blacks are dumb. Yes?

Considering “the Americas” wasn’t a country, immigration to it wasn’t possible. I guess you mean that he traveled here. He traveled to a new location under the same government. If I move to Hawaii I didn’t immigrate there because where I’m leaving and where I’m going are under 1 government (even with entirely separate local governments).

I actually passionately dislike Hamilton, but the notion that those founders were immigrants is technically and intellectually incorrect.

Yes. You are not a foreigner to a country you helped found.

Hamilton wasn’t permitted to live in the United States under the generous graces of federal immigration policy.

You guys are trying to be legalistic without knowing the definition. Its pretty simple, really.

Exactly, He did not move to a new country. And in this context it is an important distinction.

As the 13 Colonies, they were colonies of what COUNTRY?

Muslim immigrants bring great prosperity!

There’s a very good strategic reason why the democrats want to flood the country with illegal (eventually legalize) aliens from all countries. They don’t want any borders at all. But what they do want is votes so that they can have permanent control at the federal, and eventual, state level.

They will do to these aliens what they did to the Black community, make them dependent on government hand-outs and have a guaranteed voting block which will never be beaten.

Very transparent…Americans better open their eyes before it’s too late.

Two things:

This is not true.

African-American families largely depend on government hand-outs because they live in poverty and come from single-parent homes. Are you saying the Democratic Party forced them into this situation?

You have it reversed my friend.

When President Johnson began his “war on poverty” in 1964 he spent billions of dollars attempting to get people out of poverty. What has happened over the past 52 years? More people (especially blacks) live in poverty than ever before. Simply put, if you pay someone to stay home what do you think they are going to do? Psychology 101, if you reward an action that action is usually repeated.

In addition to that the black community is that about 76% of all black children grow up without a positive male influence in the household, in other words the biological father leaves the home early on. If the mother has a child by a different male, which happens a high rate, the government gives them additional funds for that child…sort of like getting a raise.

How do we get out of this mess? But I think the first thing is that blacks have to realize that the democratic party has made (many) of them a permanent under class.

So, to answer your question they live in poverty not because they were forced but because they were cajoled. And generation after generation is now locked in poverty with no apparent escape. It’s sad.

Force? No. Incentivize? Yes.

I use the example of my wifes old sales manager. They had a progressive commission schedule in place which worked pretty well. 6 deals closed= 20% commission, etc. She was always running it to the last minute to close 8-10/month, because that level included free leads.

Wanting to give her a boost, he offered to drop the free leads to the 6/month level. Unfortunately, this backfired. He inadvertently lowered to bar, so the new goal became 6 closes/month. Without even realizing it her sales slid from 8-10, with an occasional 12 to 6-7, with an occasional 9.

I am not disagreeing that the current welfare system encourages those who use it to stay poor. But @zeb1 you are implying that African Americans were once on equal economic ground with others in this country. It was only a generation or two ago that blacks had to drink from the “colored” water fountain and could only operate businesses in their own neighborhoods. Many of the people that grew up in this atmosphere are still alive today. We know about the history of blacks in this country so it doesn’t bear repeating. But to imply they once had more opportunity and were then cajoled into poverty by the Democratic Party is either sensational, or just plain silly.

I understand this was directed at Zeb1, but did black communities have more economic mobility before or after “The War on Poverty?”

@Alrightmiami19c the term “economic mobility” is very ambiguous when a group has only one direction to go

Really? Which direction has that particular group been going since 1968?
