Presenting the NEW

SERGIUS: I saw an article (via Google, on Canoe.ca) dating back to 1990 to the Batman:Year One idea. Sure could be that. They really need something big to pick up the pieces after the last trainwreck of a movie.

RAG as the bad guy, dweebs of the world rejoice!

hmnn yeah, Rhas has always been a well scripted charcter, always playing on the mental toughness of the batman concept, but if anyone is still familiar with Batman Year 1 which I believe is the main premise for the next film, there weren’t any real costumed villains. The story cuts back and forth between Jim Gordon’s arrival in Gotham as a new cop, and Bruce Wayne’s return to Gotham after being away for so long (training his ass of mentally and physically the world over). The real villain in the pic is the overall coruption in Gotham, from the Mayor and the cops, to the Roman crime family.

I pray to god they dont toss in several costumed villains. The 1st flick (the only good one in my opinion) worked so well probably because you only had one bad guy to focus charcter development on.

It’s not based in any way on year one, nor is it considered to be his “early years”. That’s all been speculation since the Year One project got canned over a year ago. Although it isn’t a continuation of the previous films, it still isn’t a restart in the sense that its about Batman’s origin.

Hey aslong as he bulks the fuck up and doesn’t wear a rubber suit I’m happy.

As for Ras Al Ghul I know about the villian’s origins and read more about him in JLA. I can honestly say I think he will make a great villian. Not really a costumed freak but a sociopath on an epic scale.

I was thinking Croc might be a cool villian to throw in as a subplot. Not as a henchman but just one more obstacle Batman has to deal with.

Bane would also be cool if it was actually Bane and not a moronic dolt as in Batman 4. Bane is actually a fairly intelligent villian.

Also cut out all the damn campy shit. That is why Blade and Blade 2 were successful movies because they took themselves seriously.

Equilibrium was a good movie but I don’t think it was promoted right. Not a lot of people saw it. Christian Bale should fit into the Batman role pretty well. I second the comment that he looks like a younger version of Tom Cruise.

But, the women aren’t throwning there arms around him just yet.

fitone: besides a “huh?”, I gotta say I’m sure Bale ain’t being ignored by the babe population.

Bale’s best movie was “Shaft” with samuel l. jackson and the man who stole the show, Jeffrey Wright.

Can’t wait for the Batman.

–AL–

He looks like a scrawny little boy.

At first, I thought you were presenting the poster boy of Metrosexuals. But then I read the post and am excited that Christian Bale got the part. He’s a talented actor and could easily pull the part of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Cool.
