I reckon predictions of a blowout in either direction are wrong. I’m predicting a razor tight race with a much lower voter count than 2008/2012.
Depending on how the state polls look in the next couple of days, I could see this turning on Trump flipping Colorado.
I think him winning Norcal, Florida, Ohio and AZ is not an impossible outcome. Then it will turn on how Nevada and Colorado vote.
But for all the good prediction has done thus far, I may as well predict a meteor striking the San Andreas fault, causing Atlantis to rise from the bottom of the sea and being admitted to immediate statehood with 70 EC votes which it uses to vote Harambe.
6 months ago we were told Trump is a joke. He will never win the GOP primary against serious politicians. He got a record number of votes and smoked everybody’s ass. Now we hear the same thing. Trump’s a joke. No way he beats a serious Presidential candidate like Hillary Clinton. I think he will win and I don’t think it will be that close. I tend to agree with Michael Moore’s assessment that the Joe Blows of the world give the system the biggest F-you in American history.
He won the primary because all the other plethora of candidates divided the rational vote allowing him to win with a minority of votes largely by non-republicans. And if he wins the election it will be due to the sole reason the Dems managed to nominate someone at least as unelectable as him.
He is still a joke. It’s just a testament to how terrible the system is. The least liked nominee in the history of the US might get elected. What a crappy system.
Regarding the signs and bumper stickers. I live in a moderate but most likely left leaning city. Last week I saw a hillary bumper sticker on my way to work and realized it was probably the first one I saw and how uncommon they were this year. I think I’ve seen more Romney/Obama stickers than anything from 4 years ago. Yard signs are for local propositions.
On a side note, is it common for people to remove bumper stickers after an election or does it just stay on with the life of the car?
I’m confusing myself with the Nat Guard and 10th Amendment so I erased it.
But there would have to be an amendment to change Article II taking away those things from pres and probably a change in Article I to move them under each state, other than the training and officer provisions.
“… a majority of the whole number shall be necessary to a choice.”
Is the president of the Senate part of the whole number of senators?
EDIT: At this point I’d be ecstatic to see the stalemate extend all the way to the leader of the house and give us Paul Ryan, even if it was just temporary.
I was thinking this morning that unless Clinton or Trump does something that is bold, bi-partisan, and clearly in the best interest of the Country as a whole…both will have absolutely disastrous Presidencies…
Both already have Bull-eyes on their backs…and most likely both will go into the Presidency carrying and creating enough baggage to give their opposition enough ammunition to shoot them with.
One thing that I am not looking forward too is the incessant whining of the opposition to either one of them…while in the meantime our Country suffers…
I’m an optimist, though…and believe more in our Republic than these two.
