I agree the image is quite pixelated, but I’m pretty sure it’s real. Sometimes even pictures on the home digital camera can have edges like that, I’ve seen it happen. If I’m wrong, then that is one hell of an artist who can render something that well, digital or not.

The image size is not the biggest either. A low quality JPEG generally has artifacts. That`s the price to pay for compression.
And I agree for the digital comment. CGI looks good from afar on animated stuff, but I have yet to see a up-closestatic CGI that can be mistaken for a real-life picture. It should be corrected within 10 years.

Are you guys using IE 6? If so, then the browser is reducing the image to fit your screen size – which is why you’re seeing pixellation.
If you mouse over the image, a resizing icon will appear on the lower right of the image, allowing you to increase it to its full 446x672 pixel size. It’s an awesome picture - and it’s no CGI.
