I recently starting popping my hips at the end of hip extension during squats. Does anyone else do this?
I have no idea what you mean by popping your hips?
Neither.
I’ve never heard of anyone doing this- the finish of the squat is generally the easiest part, and also comes as much from the quads as from the hips.
my hips (on the front) pop when doing lying leg raises (pops at the bottom) which i think is due to tight hip flexors and anterior pelvic tilt. i have felt what you’re talking about if in the hips if i squat with a very wide stance.
edit: i think i misread the OP, LOL
lol this is so stupid… the guy on the top is leaning forward like a tool… Just squat naturally for the top half of the lift… everyone can do the top half perfectly fine… The bototm half is where you need to learn to squat properly… if the bottom half is performed properly, the top half is natural and naturally very easy… That is unless you really want to give yourself a blowjob and thus lean forward like the tool in that first video…
I’ve never actually seen anyone finish a squat like the first video, personally. I just stand up straight with the bar on my back

That’s Eric Cressey and a lot of people misinterpret hip extension for back extension. Squat with your ass not your spine.
