Someone has to tell us that PC culture kept the right horse from winning the Kentucky Derby. Fucking liberals.
And Trump knows horses. He fucked a porn star who he said had a horse face. Then had to pay a bunch of money to keep her in the stable until after the election.
Or doing something useful like cheering on civilian bombings in a democracy, climbing up Trump’s backside for collusion, tax releases, keeping him off the ballots, and going after AG for lyin, cheatin, and ignorin.
Pop goes all Democrats.
Idiots with idiotic ideas, being cheered by other idiots.
Pretty much exactly how I feel about Trump’s loyal army. They will figure out the ideas they support when he tells them he is for it.
Which changes as often as the weather because he has no idea what he actually wants to do. But he makes really big promises that sound really good. Close to 5 trillion dollar budget proposals. Like all economists say when the economy is doing good spend more and tax less.
True believers in unions are full of Kennedy Democrats in my experience. They hunt, fish and lead very red-state lifestyles. They just believe that management is evil and that you should be able to make a great living with just a HS diploma.
The members even say things like “Republicans don’t care about the working man, they help management. ‘Right to work’ means ‘right to fire!’”
Just don’t ask them if their ideas are so good why do they need to eliminate the secret ballot and impose card check to try and unionize more places. “Mumble mumble… fox news!”
When I made this statement; it was only partially tongue-in-cheek.
It’s been proven over and over and over again that 1) Trump is pretty much immune from the consequences of behaviors that would derail other Politicians before they even got started and 2) has been lucky enough to be in office at a time others whom have held the office would give their first born for.
*If all he does is “keep being Trump”…and doesn’t do or say something that would even make Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Sanders bail…Trump gets a second term without even breaking into a Sunny Daniels induced sweat.
A person (well me and dozens of millions of other Americans actually) does not have to be some mindless drone hanging on every word or plan of Trump, to realize that as flawed as he is, he has been one of the few barriers to the self-defeating plan of swapping America as she was while rising to a zenith, into a Godless, self loathing, politically correct, ‘savior’ of the world’s destitute masses.
How intellectually bankrupt does one have to be, to not see the turmoil caused by endlessly chasing fanciful schemes to rewrite an election? Millions of dollars wasted, 3 lost years of opportunities, beating the drum of projection at such a fevered pitch that the society is becoming permanently divided.
Trump; as crass and non pc as he can be, at least puts America first and enrages the low information psychotic NPC weirdos, which is good enough for me.
Indeed. I can’t think of a President who has been more insistent on treating the office like his words don’t matter. Trump can and will insult virtually everyone and has a legion of “fans” who don’t care what he says. If the country is more divided than ever I’d say they are taking directions from the guy in charge. Or perhaps the direction that started when Republicans said they would make Obama a one term President and refused to really work with him. Now Democrats are guilty of following suit and we are worse off for it all.
Then again I can’t honestly think the division is something you truly care about if you’ll call almost half the country idiots being cheered by idiots.
First and foremost, thank you for your service. Please don’t take the following as criticism but rather as general curiosity about the views of someone with deep operational experience and a negative perception of the state of military-civil affairs.
Out of curiosity, were these DoS folks you had a negative perception of political appointees or career foreign service officers?
One could argue that DoS - in spite of being shamefully under resourced and marginalized compared to their inter-agency partners - have a track record of being more clear eyed on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq than many at DoD (excluding DIA).
Also, why shouldn’t congress - especially foreign relations and armed service committee members - visit places like Afghanistan and Iraq? They’re executing their constitutional mandate of oversight and policy formulation.
More relevant to the thread: my dark horse pick is Pete Buttigieg. He’s young, openly gay and yet able to credibly quote scripture, a graduate of Harvard and Oxford, and a former Naval Intelligence Officer.
Outside of the other babble that follow, do you care to expand on this?
P.S., You’d be hard pressed to defend Trump as a defender of democracy. He cheer-leaded Russian intelligence operations to influence the 2016 election (I.e., welcomed it, promoted it, attempted to cover it up by blaming in on others, attempted to subvert the investigation to hold the culprits to account, and even recently described it as a “hoax” to its very architect, Vladimir Putin).
If it weren’t for OLC/DOJ guidelines that state that a sitting president can’t be indicted, Trump would be facing charges of multiple counts of obstruction of justice, massive tax fraud, and criminal conspiracy.
The dividing line between autocratic states and democracies isn’t voting (the former hold sham elections routinely). It’s the rule of law. The current occupant of the White House has demonstrated nothing short of hostility of democratic norms and institutions.
