Politics of (AAS) Drug Use

This is a topic I’ve given a lot of thought to. The topic
of making things “illegal” to put into an individuals
body. This basically comes down to this: DO I OWN MY OWN
BODY OR NOT? If the answer is no, then by definition I am
a SLAVE. If the answer is yes, then I can put into my
body whatever I damn well please, whether it is cigarettes,
a big mac, AAS, dope, brocoli or rocks. For those of you
who the US constitution has any relevance, I would make the
legal argument that all drug laws are unconstitutional
based on the 13th amendment which outlaws slavery.

For those of you who are inclined to "ask" your congress critter representative to "legalize" AAS, I suppose that's better than nothing. But to me that seems like asking "oh please master, won't you let me do what is my human right."

Fuck that. I'M NOT A SLAVE. I don't beg for my freedom. I seize it. If I wanted to use AAS I would go out and do so.

I think we should face another fact: the bureaucrats and pols comprising the so-called "federal government" have little difference from the mafia. Really. They should be called the federal mafia. They are all facist, tyranical meglomaniacal, master-wanna-bes. 99% of what they do is EVIL.

And it isn't just bodybuilders who feel this way. There is a whole large group of "life extension" type people who would like to advance anti-aging health technology and drugs as rapidly as possible but are greatly impeded by the thugs at the FDA.

So I have a better idea: rather than begging for freedom, do the following: 1)If you believe that anti-drug laws are immoral, then engage in civil disbediance and make your own decisions. 2)realize that when you hand over "tax" (read "extortion") money to the federal mafia, you are providing more resources for the dickheads to use to try to enslave you. They're much less able to attempt to enslave you if they have less resources (ie money) to do so with. Make your own decisions on how you handle your "taxes" too. 3)If you are unlike me, and aren't completely jaded about the prospects of accomplishing *anything* through the system, then sure, do the voting and political rep. thing to see if any progress can be made there. (I doubt it though.)

you go with your bad self. i hear everything you say, but civil disobedience lands you in jail. i’ve been there, it sucks bad. we need a foolproof plan. MILLION MEATHEAD MARCH???

I would have to agree with most of what you have to say. The bottom line is that the current laws are a crock and completely hypocritical. All you have to do is read the paper every day to see how many individuals are getting busted for drug posession, drunk driving, etc. The more laws they make the less it seems to work. It is really a pity that those of us who would like to use AAS are grouped with the crackheads of the world. I can’t remember the last time I read about any lifter robbing, assulting or murdering somebody for AAS. The fact of the matter is 90% of the users or would be users are just average Joe’s who would gladly take AAS under the direct supervision of a physician. Unfortunately with the laws the way they are, an M.D. won’t even consider that option, at least in my area. We as a whole need to get an honest dialogue open with the proper officials so that this topic gets the attention it deserves. The politicians need to be made aware of current research of the health benefits and safety of AAS and dispose of their 80’s mentality that they are dangerous, deadly drugs. Lets focus on the true individual that wants to use these substances in moderation for physique improvement and stop focusing on the abusers (the folks that make up the Dead Pool) who make up a fraction of a percent of the users of AAS. Only when these truths are brought forward, will we get the ball rolling towards progress. Like the previous responder, I too don’t want to end up in prison, grouped with the real drug users and abusers. I’m sure most of you out there would not group yourselves with these individuals.
Something to think about. Write your congressman/legislator to voice an educated opinion. Ranting and raving and blatantly breaking the law just reinforces the status quo opinon.

“need a foolproof plan”

No such animal… but we all have the responsibility as People to understand how to petition for redress of grevance

I think the only way to sway these necrophiliac pedophiles is to somehow reframe the problem to appeal to their own sniveling self interest.

It’s a war of ideas now, look up the word “meme” on the 'net, you’ll see what I mean.

Comment 1: Like I said, I don’t expect much from tyrants.

Comment 2: You only go to jail if you get caught.

Comment 3: You only get caught if you are careless. Gov
bureaucrats are not omnipotent, nor omnisciant. There is no
“big brother” watching everything you do. Just a bunch
of humans who typically have less intelligence or ambition
than you or I do.

Some good thoughts

W]hoever desires liberty, should understand these vital facts, viz.: 1. That every man who puts money into the hands of a "government" (so called) puts into its hands a sword which will be used against himself, to extort more money from him, and also to keep him in subjection to its arbitrary will. 2. That those who will take his money, without his consent, in the first place, will use it for his further robbery and enslavement, if he presumes to resist their demands in the future. 3. That it is a perfect absurdity to suppose that any body of men would ever take a man's money without his consent, for any such object as they profess to take it for, viz., that of protecting him; for why should they wish to protect him, if he does not wish them to do so?... 4. If a man wants "protection," he is competent to make his own bargains for it; and nobody has any occasion to rob him, in order to "protect" him against his will. 5. That the only security men can have for their political liberty, consists in their keeping their money in their own pockets, until they have assurances, perfectly satisfactory to themselves, that it will be used as they wish it to be used, for their benefit, and not for their injury. 6. That no government, so called, can reasonably be trusted for a moment, or reasonably be supposed to have honest purposes in view, any longer than it depends wholly upon voluntary support.
--Lysander Spooner, No Treason: the Constitution of No Authority

In existing States a fresh law is looked upon as a remedy for evil. Instead of themselves altering what is bad, people begin by demanding a law to alter it. If the road between two villages is impassable, the peasant says, "There should be a law about parish roads." If a park-keeper takes advantage of the want of spirit in those who follow him with servile obedience and insults one of them, the insulted man says, "There should be a law to enjoin more politeness upon the park-keepers." If there is stagnation in agriculture or commerce, the husbandman, cattle-breeder, or corn- speculator argues, "It is protective legislation which we require." Down to the old clothesman there is not one who does not demand a law to protect his own little trade. If the employer lowers wages or increases the hours of labor, the politician in embryo explains, "We must have a law to put all that to rights." In short, a law everywhere and for everything! A law about fashions, a law about mad dogs, a law about virtue, a law to put a stop to all the vices and all the evils which result from human indolence and cowardice.

Coyote: I am very aware of Lysander Spooner. Thanks
for the other quote though.

The answer is not to fight the current powers that be because that will land you in a comfy jail cell. The answer is to fight HARD for the Libertarian cause. Register to vote as a libertarian. Write your elected representatives and tell them you will vote libertarian if they don’t start respecting your freedoms. Why women are aloud to have abortions yet we cannot inject test is utterly and completely beyond me.

Mike

Jertschub: If I were to bother voting, I would vote
libertarian. But personally, I think the whole "system’
is utterly rigged by the demopublicans and republicrats
to prevent any third party from having any influence. I
think the “system” is beyond repair. Thus I personaly think
the only effective method is to withdraw all support from
all bureaucrats. And I will repeat three of my statements
from earlier: 1)I AM A FREE MAN 2)you only go to jail if
you get caught 3)you only get caught if you are careless.
Unlike Thoreau, I don’t believe civil disobedience means
you have to go jail. I believe it means living your life
as a TRULY FREE individual, and not as a SLAVE.
