We aren’t all dipshits, however like I said in another thread. Don’t expect a conservative president out of my generation. In my western civ class last year we would have ‘debates’ where it would just be me ranting about obama, and congress for the entire time. Some people got offended, but that’s ok.

I really don’t get how you can lose a debate from the conservative side on:

-welfare
-socialized education/medicine/etc
-national security
-taxation (not overly taxing any one group)
-energy

Maybe because the Republican party is not conservative on any of those issues, and hasn’t been for some time now.[/quote]

could you be right? I wonder

Clinton had a surplus because he had an ardent Republican Congress, with Newt Gingrich in charge. Then the Republicans began to emulate the Democrats — they decided that the philosophy that got them there was the wrong philosophy to keep them there.

That’s a total fallacy. Republicans are not the fiscally responsible party. They’re always yelling “Tax and spend Liberals!”, while they Borrow and Spend (yes, China nearly OWNS us). They always say Liberals want to grow the government while Reagan and Dubya have had the largest and most costly govs in 30 years.

The mouthpieces of the right-wing are bobble-headed, hypocritical windbags (Limbaugh, Hannity, O-Reily) that anyone with a mind of his own knows are complete liars and idiots. The youth of America is as fed up (as us old guys) with how the right has fucked up this great country.

Man, I wish we had Bill Clinton in office again.

Why so you can try pot and not inhale with him?

That combined with a strong economy driven by the new computer industry and stealing social security.

Ok. Republicans and Democrats both spend. It just difference of priority and what works better. Republicans say stop wasting money on social programs and spend money in military which creates jobs to create the supplies. Dems say forget military we should hug and kiss, but give money to the poor so everyone can be happy. This does nothing but create a short term fix IMO.

We can sit here and argue all day, but neither of us will budge. You are entitled to your opinion. The only difference is taxation which has nothing to do with spending and all about socialism vs captialism principles. Since both parties spend tons of money, how come one wants taxes and the other doesnt? One thinks that sharing of wealth will solve issues. The other thinks strong capitalism and incentive to gain wealth will solve problems. Again, you wont change my opinion and I wont change you.

On media portrayal, you cant honestly tell me you blame Americas problems on three guys. Liberals are so strong in the media. NY Times, 95% of celberaties, MSNBC, ACLU, NPR, Jon Stewart, Michael Moore (do I need to continue?) And Hannity and O’Reilly are at least liberal on a few issues while the ppl, companies, organizations I mentioned are 100% liberal stances. You cant give me any of that shit

75% of teens have never heard of Limbaugh. Many dont know what Hannity stands for. And most probably think of O’Reilly as an Irish beer or Papa Bear to Stephen Colbert. So dont give me shit about those commentators.

The Bill Clinton comments was just ridiculous. Again, why so you can smoke pot but not inhale? Or maybe its so you can have an affair with a fat intern and commit perjury when asked about it?

Im just happy you didnt say I wish Carter was back or I might have actually have fallen out of my seat

I wish we had Newt running the show in congress.

The only reason Reagan began a surplus was because the Democratic house clinged to Social programs for dear life and refused to budge AFTER Reagan had increased military spending and cut taxes. It was bound to happen. You cant keep everything and not expect to lose money

I really liked this topic…sad to see it die

The younger you are, the more short-sighted you are and that goes hand-in-hand with far-left policies:

Take money from rich to distribute among the poor: Everybody’s equal and happy! Yay!

Protect the snow owls and ferns from big, angry corporations grrrrr!

Terrorists will become happy and go to sleep if we ignore them!

Raise the minimum wage because that means people will make more money and we’ll all have more to spend yay!

People die from guns so making guns illegal will eliminate deaths from guns yay!

Make healthcare free yay!
Make education free yay!
Make everything free yay who cares where the money will come from yay!
