It’s a controlling tool, for the masses. Been used before, in Europe, early 20th century.
Nothing new, just different name.
You would have to read some taboo books to see evidence of this.
I’ll say no more.
Yes. But will not say it publicly. Read some “taboo” literature from the early to mid 20th century, and you will see this tool being used.
It’s been used before to this effect. Began at beginning of 20th century in Europe.

Of particular note is Chait’s ability – and it’s very rare – to use sarcasm with the correct amount of ironic understatement: “A white Toronto member, sensing the group had dramatically underreacted, moved to rectify the situation…”
“The Marxist left has always dismissed liberalismâ??s commitment to protecting the rights of its political opponents â?? you know, the old line often misattributed to Voltaire, â??I disapprove of what you have to say, but Iâ??ll defend to the death your right to say itâ?? â?? as hopelessly naÃ?¯ve. If you maintain equal political rights for the oppressive capitalists and their proletarian victims, this will simply keep in place societyâ??s unequal power relations. Why respect the rights of the class whose power youâ??re trying to smash? And so, according to Marxist thinking, your political rights depend entirely on what class you belong to.”
This is the first time someone has been able to help me understand the “logic” of the PC Left’s apparent hypocrisy.
Yes. And it’s both true and frightening.

Last I heard she made a porn video. It was not very good though, not worth looking up.

I assume you were replying to somebody, but don’t know how to? You have to use the ‘Quote’ button if you want to include somebody’s text.
Also, the point being made has nothing to do with failing to recognize the new linguistics of neo-taboo-ism, I.E. PC.
It’s the absurdity of the idea that old taboos should be dropped in favor, and to be replaced by new taboos.
While in the '50’s it may have been taboo to insult or even legitimately criticize a clergyman or policeman, now it’s taboo to insult, or even legitimately criticize a gay person, black person, muslim, etc.
It seems that everybody is in agreement that PC is just the establishment of new taboo, without any real justification for making those things taboo.
The idea that we shouldn’t do away with taboos all together, but to get rid of old ones and adopt new ones has not been proposed in any kind of rational way.
If approached respectfully, why cannot any topic be approached without fear of automatic dismissal and receiving the label of ‘bigot’ before a point can even be made?
I thought the ideal was supposed to be to remove taboos not replace them. Replacing them helps no one. PC replaces them, that’s the problem with it. It has little to do with respecting somebody else or preserving dignity in the context of a discussion. It’s to render the opposing party’s argument because by approaching the topic, he’s automatically a bigot and is incapable of asking a question. It’s essentially an abuse of ‘Genetic fallacy’. If you can label your opponent an ‘asshole’ or ‘bigot’, anything he/ she says is automatically dismissed.
That’s what we ‘anti-PC’ people are whining about.
The fact that ‘taboos have always been around’ is irrelevant.
Found this on the UK Daily Express in the comments section:
<Cultural Marxism is an ideology which emphasizes culture as a main cause of inequalities. Critics have seen cultural Marxism and its influence as an important cause of political correctness and as an important cause of a perceived decline of humanities, social sciences, culture, and civilization in the Western world. Promoters of cultural Marxism may use terms such as critical theory, postmodernism, deconstruction, or similar terms. Many do not know the origin of their own somewhat cultural Marxist ideas and may, for example, describe themselves as social liberals. Cultural Marxism places great emphasis on analyzing, controlling, and changing the popular culture, the popular discourse, the mass media, and the language itself. Cultural Marxists themselves often try to remove these by more or less subtle manipulation and censorship of culture. A term describing such censorship is political correctness where all views on equality that disagree with the cultural Marxist view are avoided, censored, and punished.>
Ok, I didn’t read all the pages in this thread, but I saw this and got really pissed. Since this is a thread about PC, what do you think of this:
Subway Jared has basically had his life destroyed because he told a woman he thinks middle school girls are hot!!
What the hell, is it against the law to say that or something? Totally insanity.

Yeah, he may have made a joke in bad taste, but in no way do I think he meant it, like he would want to get with a middle school girl. I would have to hear the context, of course, but it sounds to me like a tasteless joke. I am guilty of my share of tasteless jokes, but they were only jokes. Poor taste or not, nothing serious about it. Naturally, I won’t repeat, less the PC police get me.
What’s the worst part about e… ← I’ll never tell!

It’s the American disease, too many people are too worried about what everybody else does and no where near enough time on themselves. Don’t you love it when a spouse who cheats all the time and has been married 3 times and has 10 kids with 11 moms, gets ‘appalled’? Like I don’t know, most movie stars?
check out this article about a gun shop owner who’s sick of being PC.

Perhaps the women would prefer t-shirts that simply said “wife”.
Of course, if they looked into the etymology of the word, they might not.
The word wife comes from the Frisian wif, and is cognate with the Dutch wiff, which now means “chick” or “gal”, but used to be used derogatorily, like “bitch” or “ho”. The ultimate root is the Indo-European word ghwiph, which refers to the (shameful) female genitalia, and which is also the root of the word queef.
So yeah, all you married ladies. You can either be called a trophy, which is a much sought-after symbol of victory and success, or you can be called a pussy fart. Your call.
