Planche Pushup

I was doing some reading on T-Nation and read gymnastics coach sommer say that if a person is able to perform a Planche Pushup he should be able to do 2x Bodyweight bench press. I also went to a gymnastics forum where they had a discussion about the subject and most guys there are able to do over 1.7 bodyweight in the bench press (guys who can only do straddle planche and not a full planche). so I was wondering if doing gymnastic workouts with high frequency like the planche would be a good idea to increasing my bench press.

also, is focusing on increasing my strength, to eventually use higher weight for reps the best way to reach my goal for mass/hypertrophy?

I quote Charles Poliquin here: “a weight increase for reps for a major lift by 10 pounds translates into a gain of 1 pound of lean tissue”

sorry to bother you with many questions, but to sum up, is increasing strength via including gymnastic training a good way to increase strength and therefore be able to gain mass?
