At least the “FOX” talking heads have tended to INCREASE ratings.

Agreed, but the FOX group is both outnumbered and outgunned…I laugh at all the slanted Romney articles on Yahoo and CNN…and nothing on Obama.

It really is a joke these days.

Outnumbered? Yes.

Outgunned? Debabtable.

Mufasa

CNN won’t be around much longer as we know it.

I wonder why you would single out Piers Morgan for such derision? You honestly think that there are major differences between his view and the many other left wing media men? From Chris Matthews on the hard news side to the Jon Stewart and the many other so called “comedians” who are regular mouth pieces for the left. The list is virtucally endless. From CNN and MSNBC to CBS, ABC and the many newspapers and journals right up to AOL and the Huffington Post. Everyone of them filled with reporters who think that citizens should not own guns, and that taxes should be higher.

Morgan is just one of the many liberal stooges.

The subject matter that they are discussing is debatable and it would have been nice to see such a debate and not an ambush.

Shit will stay up all day too. All day. Romney is evil = headline from noon until 630pm switch, while all the other stories change. And the story will be in 2 other areas of the site.

Obama lied again, this time about attack ads = 1 hour headline, replaced by touching story about cake in Nebraska made out of love cheese.

Someone shot a lot of white people = headline for 2-3 days. Someone shot a bunch of brown people = minor headline for less time than Romney is a douche article.

That seems to be the case, jp.

They appear to get “spikes” with their political coverage (with the “Minority Report” boards and all)…but it seems to not be enough in terms of ratings/ad revenue.

FOX appears to have found their niche, and has been beating CNN for some time now.

Seems to me when I was a kid, I’m still a pup to a lot of you guys, that CNN wasn’t anyone’s patsy and was pretty good about just talking about the news.

Has it really changed drastically (I don’t watch it now) or was I wrong before?

CB:

I don’t think that CNN actually got “worse” in their coverage…it’s just that FOX was able to tap into the psyche of Conservative America.

Ratings wise, they haven’t looked back since making that decision.

You were wrong before. CNN has always been leftist. Consider that its founder Ted Turner states recently in an interview with Piers Morgan that he wanted CNN to be the New York Times of television. All that’s happened is that as you’ve grown and become more aware of pervasive leftist bias in American television and newspaper media, you’re seeing right through the bias.

I was under the impression (correct me if I am wrong) that Rupert Murdoch founded FOX news because he was convinced that the media had gone completely liberal and wanted some way to balance it out?

Now I think that FOX has gone too far right…but only after MSNBC decided to play the same game to the left.

FOX has doubled MSNBC’s ratings since the late 90’s…so apparently they don’t do what they do very well.

This is definitely pretty bad. No matter who’s side would have been subjected to this. he may have sent some first time gun buyers out to the shop. BTW, concealed carry has been legal IN the city of Detroit for several years and there’s been no incident I’m aware of where anybody used a legal weapon unlawfully, but several where law abiding citizens have successfully defended themselves.
They should give guns to all the good citizens and have them go shoot up the drug dealers, whore houses, crack houses. Burn most of the remaining rot and start over.

Murdoch founded Fox News Channel in order to make money. He saw a deficit in the American cable news landscape for news with some conservative commentary and thought he could fill that void, and his gamble paid off.

When something serious went down, the first thing you did was turn on CNN.

THE SKY OVER BAGDAD HAS BEEN ILLUMINATED and Peter Arnett was fucking there while the rest hid in Kuwait.

I was trying to highlight the method in which he carried out this interview. His actual position on gun ownership wasn’t the point of this thread.
Yes, but much can be gained from know that the media is full of gun hating liberals like Morgan.

Their “niche” is about half of the country that doesn’t like the fact that the main stream media is to the left!

I work with guns every day, never felt safer at work. funny how that works.

The media drifted left through the years. But took a decidedly left hand turn in 07’ and 08’ when their hero was running for President. I can honestly say that 2008 was the absolute death knell for an unbiased media.

They are out of the closet now and they care not what people think as long as they get their liberal message across. They are now very much like Hollywood they’re in your face and they don’t care what you think as they know that about one third of people love it and about another 20% or so are not smart enough to know they’re being played.
