Pictures of Ukraine Riots

Sorry, Representative Klitschko.
This made me lol, very funny.

I thought this was an unedited Muse video.

Is it even safe to go to Ukraine even without the riots going on? Are tourists welcome? Honestly curious, I do not know much about Ukraine.

Украина!

Ukraine is a great country, but I don’t know if I’d want to live there, or even visit, right now. It looks that the streets are just too volatile. If you’re serious about going, wait a few months to see how this current situation sorts itself.

I lived in Donetsk (eastern Ukraine, largely Russian speaking) and Kyiv, from mid-96 to mid-2000. At that time, the country was changing rapidly, from tightly-controlled, Russian-dominated, Soviet-era greyness to a more-liberal, middle-European feel. It was a good time to be in Ukraine.

Is it safe? I would say generally, yes, but as holds true most everywhere, you need to have situational awareness - it helps to “look Ukrainian” by dressing to fit in. Don’t flash rolls of bills. Keep your wits about you. Oh, and avoid riots.

Cool.

Epic. That’s gotta be the most Hollywood thing ever. I envision a director of the next Michael-explosionn-Bay film to be telling the newly famous muscian/protagonist at the end of the film “ok, now, don’t look back, just play that jazz line as they burn all the zombies”.

Cheesy? Hell yes. But then in real life it’s much less cheesy and much more cool.

Wow. Europeans sure know how to riot.
It is a Slav thing. We have had a lot of practice with riots and revolutions in the last century.
I’m Czech, 2nd generation. My mom’s dad fled the place in 1918 or so, it was a crazy time to be hanging out there from what he said about it.

These guys obviously can teach Rioting 101.

If you take out the potential death factor…how much fun would a riot be?

I think that the potential death factor IS the fun part.

Yeah seriously. The idea that this is their time, and they’ll sacrifice everything to get what they want has to up the anti a bit.

If you take out the potential death factor, it’s call of duty on ps4

Well, I mean let’s be honest: where else could you use a Molotov Coctail to light a cigarette?

Dictionary definition of badass

Here’s an article on what is being observed there, not necessarily what politically is happening/ interesting though.

PEROGIES NOW!

The cops obviously have their hands tied or those streets would have been swept clean in a day or two tops. Swept clean and painted red with blood. Look at the video clips; cops standing in defensive formations while protestors those molotov cocktails at them, pelt them with cobble stones, and one guys whips the cops with a chain while the cops just stand there.

“Ha ha, the cops have orders to not fight back! Look how tough I am now!”

There’s also a video of a bystander in a car who has to fight off a group of brave protestors because he doesn’t agree with them. So I guess they’re protesting for “FREEDOM!” as long as you agree with what we say. This is obviously more complicated politcally than brave freedom fighters versus oppressive authority.

But I do love the old guy with the molotov. Also, chicks bringing sammiches for the win.

Sammiches!!

At least their obeying gender roles!

Wait wait…is that a red-headed AND Ukrainian blooded chick on the right??

Win-fucking-win.

Well, to be fair I’m sure if the OP or any of us others actually wanted to talk about the political complexities or the bad/good moral high ground this probably would have been posted in Politics forum…where like 3 people would read it.

This is way more fun than having a serious discussion.
