I have been browsing pets just cause I love dogs. I can’t have one or anything but I like to look at them.
What I don’t understand is ads like this one where it is a puggle (PUG and BEAGLE) mixed with a french bulldog. I call this a mutt and they want $350.00. Am I missing something here? Since when are mutts considered valuable?
I saw something about this on dogs 101. They are called specialty dogs or something…like the labradoodle. People are breeding these dogs specifically to make these specialty dogs.

I go with pure breeds![/quote]
Yeah but that is a cross with a poodle and lab. I get those …but not pug/beagle/french bull dog. When is it that its not a breed anymore? And people are just maken shit up?

Because someone may pay for it, that’s why.
But I’m with your train of thought. It’s more mutt than anything else in my mind.
Nothing wrong with mutts, mind you, some of my best dogs have been mutts.
Buying a dog from an ad like that virtually guarantees you to a dog that’s going to be ill socialized due to having been born in a puppy mill, in horrible medical condition because of being the product of overbreeding.
Go to the pound. Thousands of dogs would love to go home with you.
If you really want a purebred, pick a breed and do your research. A breeder that’s reputable will let you see their breeding stock, their facilities, and will usually put you in contact with people who have purchased dogs from them before. They’ll also be able to provide legit AKC/CKC papers for the dog.

Relax … I can’t even have a dog even if I want one. I was just looking.

What a complete dipshit I am not reading that in your initial post. Apologies.
