Geees DB, nurse like that are the stuff urban legend are made of. If I didn’t know you better…
Thanks for the explanation, Prof X. It actually happens to me every time, which is why I stopped donating blood. Guess I ought to be proud of my leg development. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Get smaller?
That would not be an option for me.
One thing that might help, only because I am into learning and performing the whole hypnosis and relaxation thing with the music and lower lights, is simply having the doc walk you through the procedure. People are afraid of what they don’t understand.
If I can present the info in a way that makes it relateable and inform them of exactly what is happening, most say they don’t feel a thing during injections. The other thing is to not get up quickly after a procedure. Sit down and wait for your breathing to normalize or at least 2min before jumping up.
Realistic answer Prof? So you’ll have to stop bulking…Yikes.

Thanks for the answer, but I forgot to mention two things: I donate blood, which is done in open-space and/or cubicle-like area, and with nurses, never a doc, although there is one on hand in case things turn out bad.
And second, I loose consciousness during and not after the transfusion.
I don’t have any blood pressure problems and I’m not scared of blood. I tried relaxing, thinking my stress might be what caused it, but it didn’t work…
It happens to me also. I can give blood for tests with no problem but if I donate and they take a considerable amount? Its over with…I’ve done it all…fell from a chair, standing up, laying on the table while giving blood. Crazy feeling. Good to know I’m not alone, everyone I know doesn’t have the problem.

Any idea what that might be?
It could be the dreaded “pussyitis” that doogie spoke of. I hear that’s contagious.
I personally don’t have that particular problem. Instead, I feel weak ALL DAY after I give blood unless I make a point to eat a lot directly afterwards.
In all reality, I think some people are just more sensitive to the loss of blood volume. It would put those of you this happens to at a huge disadvantage should you ever be in some remote area after having sustained a serious injury.
Back in high school, many years ago we warned about this, the nurse wasn’t too impressed when I pretended to faint, seemed funny at the time. That same day a couple hours later a girl sitting between me and my buddy in math class starting flailing like she was being electrocuted. Shen then promptly collapsed, some kinda of reaction, I forget now what it was. We started laughing because we thought she was just messing around, the teacher wasn’t impressed. Blood services like me. Type O Neg and I bleed well.
