Try to have a easy day before your blood draw. Be well hydrated and draw blood as early in the morning as you can. This will give you your peak T . Then you will have an honest assessment of where you truely are and know how to proceed.
The OP can get TRT anywhere, sick care or a clinic, according to the endocrine society he is below the 300 cut off point for being approved for treatment.
The only thing he must do now is find someone that’s not afraid of TRT and doesn’t buy into all the bad, flawed, negative studies.
Doctors should be considering the symptoms and labs, most doctors with little to no knowledge will only fixate on labs. These doctors obviously have a bias against TRT.
I saved that link and I will for sure look into it. I have labs ordered for right before my consult with the new doc which is may 22nd. He ordered quite a bit of tests and said come in early in the morning and fasted. I am going to have them done and see what the numbers are and what all exactly he ordered. If its not the right tests i will pay for the those for my own peace of mind and so i can try to make the best decision moving forward.
I completely agree @systemlord
Well I waited the month as advised by the urologist whom said he didnt think i was low T and had me wait take blood tests and referred me to his partner who specializes more in mens hormones. He came in and said well you have low T and was ready to gimme a shot today. I told him i wanted to process this and take a look at my results. I told him i was a little leary due to the bad anxiety from the androgel. He said he would start me low on 100 test cyp shot a week and see how i did and build up to more if needed. Here are my latest labs. Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated. Would like to hear from some of you experienced guys on your take of my labs and what to do from here.
Ive been off the gel for 2 months. Was that enough time for my natural T to completely kick back in?
You have some sort of medical problem driving CBC labs above ranges, normally these levels would be seen in men on TRT. High lymph count is indicating your body is fighting something.
You better get used to donating blood often on TRT, then once weekly injections is a bad idea. You should be injecting T multiple times per week.
So I should probably figure out what the underlying issue with the lymph before adding trt?
Now I that I think back About 9 years ago I had esophagus dilation due to scar tissue from acid reflux the specialist mentioned a high white blood count back then also.
No your HCT is still high do to your gel use.
Wow your doc wants to start you on 100mg /wk that is F-ing fantastic. A doc that does not want to start you at 200 or 150/wk. I’d listen to this doc he just might know what he is talking about.
Your SHGB does not suggest you need multiple shots a week if you are using T cyp or E.
Give this doc a chance.
He has been on test cyp himself for 12 years he said when I met him today. I asked if i could give myself shots he said they want to do it for the first 3 months then they allow the patient to give themselves the shots.
Again I see nothing wrong with that. This guys is careful that is all.
Winner. Work with this guy.
Yeah its fine with me. I was actually expecting him to say I had to come there forever to get them.
Im so torn on what i should do. I haven’t quit thinking about it since my blood tests. I cant help but wonder if I just need more time to bounce back. From the androgel. Some of the comments i got on this thread kind of make me think maybe i dont need trt. Im not very skilled at understanding all these levels still. I dont know what looks good and what doesn’t. What sucks is prior to the Androgel no free T was tested. I understand my tests at the beginning of 2018 had my free T in the high normal but my TT was also higher. I just wonder if my free dropped along with the total but it wasnt tested so i cant say. My free T now looks to be towards the bottom if im understanding these ranges correctly. Then i think well was the free T still high before the gel or did it drop because of it. it could make sense to have not fully recovered still 2 months later. I dont know what the hell the best move is. This stuff is so confusing. I was so gung ho and ready to start when i went on the gel then the panic attacks happened and i really cant figure out what to do. I know nobody but me can make the decision. Just venting and dont have anyone i know personally who has experience with any of this.
Your total T is 231, right? Your free T went down when your total T did, unless you SHBG dropped a lot - which is unlikely. To have free T you have to have enough to cover all of the baseline needs that your body has and have some left over past binding to albumin and SHBG and a few other basic function things. The panic can be dealt with.
Yes. Total 231. Prior to androgel it was 286 and a year prior to that 488 with a high free T. I know I can get through the anxiety I have many times. I just am more worried because i raise my 11 year old son by myself and me being down or F’d up with anxiety makes it tough to properly be what i need to be for the kid. I pretty much think I was dealing with low T symptoms since 2016 even with the high free T. This shits slightly confusing to me as to why i got all the symptoms with that high of free T.
