Overlooked Fact About The WOT

Not just a political decision Zeb, (certainly a strategic one, arguably an economic one) but politics did come into it.

I believe Bush and his advisors thought the war would be more popular than in turned out to be. Indeed, public support for the war once hit 70%! Of course, it’s languishing in the 40’s now.

Once the military is mostly out of Iraq and the current government holds together Bush’s numbers will go sky high!

Those are two big “if’s” but I think it will happen.

I agree that just about every decision made has “some” politics involved. Both democrats and republicans alike!

As a rule just about all politicians (both parties) make me sick

I agree that their can be a time when war is inevitable but this is certainly not the case. And it is you that happens to be warped by the U.S. corporate media propaganda. Take your own advise and learn to critically think.[/quote]

Is that so? Give me some facts and not your own opinion then. That would go a long way in validating your argument. Or maybe you forgot to read some of my other posts on this board?

You are the one saying war was the LAST AVAILABLE OPTION. Asking Zeppelin to give you facts as to why this wasnt so is pretty backwards. When you make a statement like that you need to back it up and so far no one on this forum has been able to do that. All the evidence given by you and the others that agree with you ,at best, points to taking down Saddam as being a possibly useful strategy. But no one on this site has given any compelling evidence that it was an immediate necessity.

Some people still believe the earth is flat.

Leave it alone.

Let me ask you a question. What were the reasons stated by this administration for going to war?

I’ll answer for him:
Saddam, Saddam, Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda, WMD, WMD, mushroom cloud over an American city.

Saddam was no threat to us, there never were any of the stockpiles of WMD, and Al Qaeda wasn’t the Iraqi citizens.

A mushroom over an American city? This likely will increase because of the actions of the U.S. over last few decades.
