Overcrowding of Earth?

Wikipedia claims that Texas is 696200km^2 we can approximate as 600000km^2 OR 600000000000m^2. Assuming that there are 6000000000 people in the world, that means you could fit them all into Texas with 100m^2 each.
with out food, water , roads, houses , sanitaion and jobs to supprt the enormous cost they would all die

Does anyone else find it ironic that its the two canadians that feel population controls should be forced?

Why do you guys feel so admit about giving all your freedom to a bunch of people who in the end dont give a damn about you ??

that’s an understandable reaction

but I apologize

every potential baby not born = a bloody explosive murder

I got it now

If you want to start an secret organisation to save the world just send me a pm and I’ll join. We will need chemists, biologists, factory owner, worker, a distribution network etc
It’s been done already. See Tom Clancy’s ‘Rainbow Six’.

It’s a good book. Tree huggers who want to exterminate everyone in the world except themselves in order to save animals and the planet from overpopulation.

The world is not overpopulated. The world is overurbanized. Go live in the boonies.

I have driving across the US (multiple times), Canada twice and in just that I can assure you, overcrowding will not be an issue in the next 100 years for either of those countries…
I agree. I have been through not only the USA and Canada, but Europe, Asia, and South America.

Vast rural areas are returning to seed, due to the rather silly trend of urbanization.

Technology allows more people to inhabit the same space than previously before.

Overpopulation is a myth devised by the liberal power elite to take choices away from free people and give power to politicians and bureaucrats.

Besides this resources are self limiting. No population can come into existence when resources to bring them about are too scarce. For example, if food becomes scarce organisms die off and “homeostasis” is restored.

Overpopulation can never happen exactly for this reason.

Sounds like Malthusian Theory. Basically, when overpopulation happens, disease, war, and starvation occur. My opinion is that you can see this in practice especially in the overpopulated areas of Africa and the like. It may not be bringing the population down due to the crazy birthrate, but I’m sure it curtails it to some degree.

One must ask how places like Africa so plentiful with resources could ever be considered overpopulated. The countries of Africa are not overpopulated one but rather they are under producing what their resources could supply them because they have no advanced capital structure because they are heavily burdened by dictatorial regimes and foreign corruption.

Poverty and famine are nearly always made by bad policy.

to realize how carelessness can overpopulate the world, one only has to take a look at this thread.

Overpopulation is an undefinable concept.

It is just an other environmentalist bogyman whose purpose is to control with fear.

I agree , over population is a relative term. We can only produce so much food, fuel , energy, or pollution before we throw something out of whack, If man went more towards a grain or green diet , our earth would support much more human life, same with the automobile , if every one turned theirs is for a bicycle . We know this will never happen unless we are forced by either necessity or force .

if everyone turned their car in for a bike you would not solve anything. we would go backwards. instead of having access to everything you do now, you would be self limiting yourself in the name of a made up problem.

need energy? - build nuclear reactors oh wait, a green hippy doesnt want that in their backyard… oh well, we can build wind turbines - nope, what about the birds !!! hydroeletric - what about the fish! coal (very available in the us) - NO the di hydrogen oxide will kill us !!!

people need to get over the myths and embrace technology…

Also, anyone who thinks a hybrid is going to solve the worlds problems is an idiot… where do you think the lithium and other rare earth metals used to make the battery come from? and under what conditions were they mined? when you can answer that one, the conversation can continue…

But they run on electricity, which comes from the little magic holes in the wall. How can that be bad…?

Oh yeah, completely agree. I’m not saying overpopulation is due to lack of food. Hell, not sure if it’s true or not, but I heard the US alone produces enough food to feed the world. And we give a lot of it away, but sometimes those in control just sell that food for guns to start more war (I think the word nation would be a bit of a stretch). But regardless, that food isn’t available to those people.

you would have to be selective on who gives up an auto. If cities were organized in a fashion to allow people to live close enough to commute via Bike or walking .

I know you can not legislate things like this but public Transportation is derived with this concept in mind .

You sound like you have the world all figured out, I will let you argue with all the Green Hippies , al by your self

One thing you have right is the solution to our energy crisis is Bad and Worst.
