Whatever, fatty.

Just putting it out there, but you may be reading it with your thoughts already in mind.

She is in the eye of the media and constantly barraged by questions about her weight when really all that matters is that she has an amazing voice.

Do you know whether or not a reporter asked her about Nicole Ritchie? Are YOU advocating that Nicole Ritchie is healthier than Adele?
No no no not at all. In fact personally I tend to find a woman with curves more attractive than a really skinny girl, again, just a personal preference, not saying one is better than the other.

What Im saying is that even if she’s defending herself, she shouldn’t have made an attack on someone else like that, even if the reporter asked, she could have just said “no comment” or “im a singer, not a model” and that would have been the end of it.

Also, she obviously does care about her image, she did pose in a picture with a cigarette. Im assuming as a singer she doesn’t smoke, but she posed with the cigarette to give of a certain image. And if she does smoke, then she’s just on the way to ruining the only thing she claims to care about, her voice.
YOu are aware that many folks that were singers smoked until they died? Dean Martin, Etta James, Janis Joplin…

But you don’t know if she was asked about Nicole Ritchie?

Why should she have to say “no comment”? Why can’t she express her opinions. I dunno, still comes across as if you think she has no right to not be in align with what you think she should say. I could be misreading you. And maybe you are misreading her.

Leave it at this, she isn’t a model, do you like her voice?

I guess I did do a little assuming, I will never know the context in which she said this, or the way she said it. And Im not saying its wrong for her to speak her mind, I just feel its unnecessary to single out a person or body type while doing so. When you put yourself out there as a public figure, everything you say gets dissected and scrutinized. Im not saying its right, but that is how it goes.

Her music isn’t my style, but I do think she has a good voice.

okay, well now I get what you mean. I agree with you if she grabbed Nicole Ritchie out of nowhere, but I guess we just don’t know.

I do like her voice and I don’t like all of her songs, but the ones I do like, I really do like.
rugggby wrote:
I saw an interview with her and she is truly your average, down to earth girl. not trying to be edgy or anything. She let’s her music do the talking unlike other artists who need sex and image to sell song imo. I think that’s what she’s getting at. She doesn’t feel the pressure to fit the image of a mainstream singer. Salt of the earth girl, from north London.
Absolutely agree.

She has stated in just about every interview i’ve seen, that she knows that both her diet and smoking are not good for her. Last I heard, she had quit smoking, since it screws with her voice. Plus, she has a ton of other things in her life that she has to worry about and she’s doing the best that she can at the moment.

I aso agree with OG.

If I was constantly scrutinized for my looks, i’d be telling people to suck my dick on a regular basis. As much as she’s been interviewed lately, she deserves some slack for saying something stupid. Her schedule is insane, i’m sure.

I sure as shit couldn’t be PC 100% percent of the time, either. Nobody could.

infortunately her music is pretty bad

I dont even care

Well I expect her to change her tune in a few years.

Especially after her doctor tells her her heart can no longer handle the amount of lard she carries around…

So is your spelling and punctuation.

But, I dont even care.
OctoberGirl wrote:

I almost wonder if she is just exasperated with all the questions regarding her weight. She has a great voice. Her job is to sing. Unfortunately the media also wants her to conform to a look. I just read it as a “back off” kinda thing.

It just must suck to have every part of you scrutinized. I know she got into a business where that will happen, but she isn’t a model, she isn’t an actress, her looks should come way far behind her talent in singing and lyrics.
Initially I found the quote annoying, but upon reflection I reached this exact conclusion. I doubt this was an unprovoked thing; rather, she’s just pissed about constantly being asked about her weight, and she overreacted in saying, “my goal is never to be skinny.” I seriously doubt she really feels that way.

She obviously puts her music first, which is what any great musician does. I have no problem with that. I also really enjoyed the song this thread prompted me to listen to, so I guess what she’s doing works. Nicole Ritchie is a convenient target due to her skeletal appearance, and frankly she’s just as bad as any fatty who can’t accept responsibility for their weight, so I don’t care that she was singled out at all.

yah… not sure you have actually seen her. But hey. that was a good hard ass statement.

Oh trust me. I’ve seen her. I went reluctantly to one of her concerts and she bored me to death. I’ve seen her at the Brits too. She is fat.

I do hope she’s just saying this because of the pressure she gets from the media etc… but if she truly feels that way about her health, well in few years, she’ll surely be ballooning like Aretha used to be and then we’ll have her doctor telling her to lose the lard.

Orrr…I’m about to blow your mind…she’d rather “weigh a ton and make an amazing album, THEN look like Nicole Richie and do a shit album”. It makes sense!

LOL

I haven’t found the exact quote authenticated as it appears on the OP’s post but here is a little more insight into the interview:

how about you step outside your fake pic, that isn’t you, before you start talking about how other folks look? Just putting it out there.

also, how about you tell me about your amazing talent that is better than Adele’s?

come one,… put it right there with your ACTUAL PIC

RIGHT… you wont’t

BUT if you do then I will see how lean you are and how much I admire your lean status.

Otherwise, how about you comment on her talent and just shut up about her looks?
