Opinions on Surge and Grow!

It didn’t print the label last time. This is a label from Gatorade, you can’t really compare this to Surge.

Well…Holy crap everyone!!! I guess I didn’t expect such a response. I thank everyone for replying and I guess my mind is made up. I will try it and see what happens. I was unaware there was a money-back guarantee but it sounds as if once I start it I won’t go back. I will post my thoughts afterwards in case anyone cares. I like the fact that it mixes well with water as I would like to use the Grow! while at work and no milk at work.

Surge is great. It’s the best post-workout blend I’ve tried to date.

Ub07 - I just got some Power Drive, have used it for two squat sessions, and I am VERY pleased with it. I would say it brings me to approximately the same level of psychological arousal (i.e., gets me as pumped up to lift as) a double espresso, but without any of the jitters that go along with caffeine. I haven’t tried actually pscyching up for a big lift with it yet; I can only imagine what that would be like.

I found Surge completely addictive and used to crave it constantly. If you’re in the USA, have some money, and can get free shipping then I would 100% recommend you try it.

If you’re not in the USA and on a budget, then you’ll have to evaluate your situation.

I just may be the only guy to go against the grain here, especially on this site. I perfer NLarge2 (choc NOT Vanilla OMG vanilla is disgusting, still have half a container left if u want it =P) cause i can get a 10lb bucket for 35$ and has the same stats 2:1 ratio carb:protein its whey protein and tastes good in a shaker cup. I also use 100% choc whey from GNC at night for some extra protein, i just think Grow! and Surge are too much of an inconvienence to aquire and dont seem any better and I have tried both. although i like the sounds of the NEW Grow! i might try some of that soon for night time. thats my opinion.

jus ordered Grow!, v nice  (finally plucked up the cash)

i wanna ordre some Surge jus to take post workout, but at 30 odd quid ? for someting like 10 servings (site i was told about in UK that stocks Biotest stuff), it jus seems ridiculously expensive an an unaffordable luxuary :frowning:

i would be using a container every week an a half or someting silly… call it 30 quid every 2 weeks which i really cant afford :frowning:

Surge is so damn good it makes me want to workout more.

I’m a fan of Grow! and Surge, however don’t have the money to use them as much as I’d like to. I have to disagree with most of you though, I find that Grow! clumps up more often than my 100% ON Whey.

You have to buy Grow!

Taste and quality are two reasons to use it.

I love both these products! If you are have productive workouts and have your nutrition where it should be, they are great additions to your diet. I really have noticed a difference esp. since adding Surge to my diet.

I’ll probably get shot for saying this but…

Surge tastes like shit. I still take it, but I chug it like an Irish carbomb right after my workout. I think it works well and I will order more, but I just can’t get used to the taste.

I like Low-Carb Grow! shakes because they mix up easily AND most of the flavors taste pretty good.

Before taking these supplements, I was all about Muscle Milk or Isopure. Every once in a while I’ll buy a tub of one or the other when they go on sale.

I like HOT-ROX as well and have seen pretty good results from them.

OK, I’m 15 and I’ve been taking 3 Cups of Apple Juice with 25-30g Whey as PWO because I can’t get ahold of Surge since my dad disapproves of all supplements, except Grow! which I get. It gives me 90g Carbs and 30g Protein and I haven’t noticed any hampered results but I haven’t tried Surge, so I was wondering if anyone else has tried something of the sort and then gone to Surge and seen cost worthy results between them?

Thank!

I think that Berardi recommended chocolate milk (lowfat) as an inferior alternative to Surge. I believe that the fructose in Apple juice is inferior for the insulin effect you want, but my recommendation would be to read everything John Berardi has written on this site. That would be a good start in meeting any goal you might have.

You should thank your personal God that you have access to Grow! This product is light years beyond what I had at 15. Good Luck.

I wouldn’t say it tastes like shit, but it is STRONG. I add a little extra water to mine. Going down it’s a little too sweet and the aftertaste is pretty bitter.

With that said, I’m only halfway through my first tub and I’m planning to order two more when I get paid Friday. It’s not the best tasting, but it’s not horrible either, and there really aren’t any shakes that compare with it nutriotionaly. It’s head and shoulders above everything else as far as that’s concerned.

Yeah I know about that but I’m lactose intolerent, so I would have to mix my own but I don’t know what kind of chocolate syrup I need. Is the high sugar okay since it causes the insulin spike for PWO? I’ve never really took the time to find out but thanks for the info.

Grow! is definitely the best tasting protein powder I’ve tried. I pay the little extra because
(a) I like it better
(b) I like to support this site

Surge is awesome. I mix it pretty thin though because it tastes a bit too strong as per the directions. I’ve tried N-Large2… actually, I still have half a tub of the shit sitting in my cabinet from months ago. Let me just say that I think it tastes like I would imagine poo would taste.

Any of you guys know if GNC sells Surge?

Buy some LACTO-FREE milk and mix it with chocolate. It’s just as good man.[quote]BlakedaMan wrote:
