One Nation, Under God

Fair enough. If a person doesn’t want to pledge allegiance, then I don’t personally expect them to get out. I do expect them, however, to renounce their U.S. citizenship and all of the benefits that said citizenship carries. You can’t have it both ways and say “I refuse to pledge allegiance to the flag, or the country, but I still want to exercise my Constitutional rights.” A person is either a citizen or they aren’t. They should act, and be treated accordingly.

Mike the Libertarian- stop stealing my ideas and start thinking for yourself! By the way, I only wish I could see that “sky pixie” you refer to. Because the only interesting thing that has happened in Hell recently is some bodybuilder arrived. He kept telling the devil that between all of the torturings, sodomizings, beatings, and plungings into the lake of fire, he’s becoming grossly overtrained. HAHA! then the devil really gave it to him!-- he made him do a Joe Weider routine!

Oh yeah, I AM most p.o’d.!!!
Anything for attention, or filing a frivilous lawsuit…
Why don’t they just change the whole thing to “One nation, INVISIBLE”? That’s what we’ll be if we keep using this negative energy for such stupid nonsense!!!
I’m with you!!! Leave our “Pledge” alone… Don’t like it? Send your kid to private school… That’s where schmucks like you and yours belong anyway!!!

LOL. Yeah, schmucks belong in private school. You do realize that it is primarily private schoolers who end up in power positions, don’t you?

How many U.S. presidents of this century went to public school exclusively?

Ah, I see. But you are begging the question by making it sound as if YOUR understanding of the establishment clause (as a strict “wall between church and state”, to the extent evidenced by this Pledge case) is as clearly implied in the Constitution as “the right to a fair trial”. In reality, the record in the US for creating a real wall between church and state is pretty spotty, and before the last half-century almost non-existent.

Redman, I agree with everything you have said.
Symphony X, I believe that people have the right to say and do whatever I deem appropriate. Here are the major principles that you should live by. If you don’t say the pledge, hit the door. If you don’t vote, then have the gall to criticize the government, hit the door. If you fight for the Taliban, you get the rope. If you are the Chief Executive of the United States and you lie under oath, time for jail. If you can’t clap during President Bush’s speech after Sept. 11th, time for a little caning. If you kidnap, rape, and then kill little girls, allow the bereaved parents the options to choose from a toture menu. If you are one of those dinks that want to burn the flag, you must first joust a veteran to earn that right. I hope I have helped you with your uncertainties in life.
