Good post, LastRep. Very true. It’s already bad enough with the travel arrangements for away games in South Africa. Argentina has a dangerous national team but not one club at the same level as one in the Super 14.
I’m a little mad Tonga didn’t beat South Africa in the final phases. I’m sick of England, haha.[/quote]
I agree, excellent post LastRep.As for the travelling arrangements,It’s SA that gets the biggest shafting in the current Tri Nations setup,as they have to make the trip to the East twice, where the other to nations only make the trip once.Playing away to each other poses no travelling problems for either Oz or NZ.
There.Glad I got that pet gripe off my chest…apologies if it’s considered off topic!
Come on England.
We need this win!!
I hope the ‘right’ French team turns up on saturday.
Just wondering if that info is up to date. From the IRB website:
“The Executive Council, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Syd Millar, meets twice a year. It consists of the eight foundations Unions each with two seats - Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and France. Argentina, Canada, Italy and Japan each have one seat on the Council as do all the Regional Associations.”
There are 6 regional associations, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, North America and West Indies, and South America. So that would make for 26 votes, 11 (plus Europe for 12) six nations, 6 (plus Africa and possibly Oceania for 8) tri-nations.
Also. I think adding Argentina to the tri-nations would actually even the score a little for South Africa (who, as was pointed out above, now have to travel twice to Aus/NZ). Especially if the format was brought down to 1 game between each set of countries, instead of two or three (six nations style, alternating where the game’s played each year).
Go England!!
Massive, massive game and deserved win for England!!!

Agreed, well done to them.
I think I just watched the real World Cup final. If France plays like this next weekend, too…
What a great day’s rugger…NZ and Oz going home.
Go BOKKE!!!
France - jesus. What’s going on??
Excellent play. Its wide open imo.
Awesome. Ohh by the way Kiwi’s - 4 more years.
Byeeeeeeeeeeee!!
All that 2 squad blah blah system…just to become chocolate firemen the first match it really counted!
And I agree…wide open.
I love seeing ballsy performances, and today we were blessed with seeing two teams show BIG FUCKING BRASS ONES!
I can’t believe Stirling Mortlock missed that penalty at the 77th minute.
Ahh, New Zealand, go figure. Best in the world for 3.9 years, choke for .1, and repeat. They’re just like the N.Y. Yankees.
BOKKE!!!
Brilliant allez les bleu
I thought nez zealand are very arrogant in terms of rugby and i am over the moon for france, so much so i wore a berret in work, northern hemisphere rugby is alive and kicking

Um, arrogant how? Can you find a single comment from the NZ players or Team management to back this up?
I think New Zealand have always given our opponents a lot of respect and never trashed talk them. You shouldn’t confuse a team performing well with arrogance.
Saying that I’m shell shocked its all over for us, the French defence was awesome and took everything we had and just ground us down. I knew we were not unbeatable and we have a very good winning percentage against any team but why oh why when we decide to lose one its at the world cup.
The chokers tag is ringing true now.
Oh well Im a young man perhaps once more before I die.
As we are out of it I wouldn’t mind seeing the Argies lift it.
I’m so happy. While it certainly isn’t representative of entire nations, I was sick of the arrogance of of some even on this board towards the “inferior” northern hemisphere teams. I felt very sorry for the New Zealand players though. They really did have something taken from them.
I wasnt referring to the team i am talking about the nation as whole the people the media etc. seemed to think New Zealand had it in the bag as did i
I felt sorry for McCaw though he seemd like a decent bloke and was lost for words after the game
And where was Mauger??
Ah Well,
Well done the French.
Another 4 years, will be firing squads when they get home
Well 1,2 3, Finish for Fords at Bathurst, so the day eneded ok.
LR
I hope Scotland win this one.

Fair enough, every country has its wankers that taints a whole nation of supporters, especially on the net(hell have you seen most of the idiots that comment on youtube?).
More than any team the AB’s were carrying the weight of 4 million expectations on their shoulders. Rugby is all we are known for.
Henry is for the chop and I actually thought he did us proud. But in New Zealand its the cup or your job and he would have known that.
Oh well…
Fuck.
