Morgan Freeman pretty much explained later in the movie why they never tried to reveal themselves to him. Remember when he said that they were basically attacked by an army of him? After that, would you really try to reveal yourself to any random one you came across? It was after he realized he was having memories from the original Tom Cruise that he decided to go for it.
The only thing I didn’t like was how the preview basically ruined the big plot twist. I could already tell that it wasn’t really the way it was portrayed to him and that the people were right.
I was also waiting to see an actual “scav”, so when they finally revealed there weren’t really any it wasn’t surprising at all.
But it was good. Kind of a cop-out ending, until it sinks in that she was going to have a clone of him, regardless. If it were realistic, there would have been many, many clones of him all having a gang-bang with his wife at the end. Not just the one random one he ended up running into.

First thing I said after the movie: Forget that Russian chick; I would have taken the redhead. In fact, I would have gone from tower to tower killing all the Tom Cruises and taking their redheads to add to my hot redhead harem.

Ya, she was cute, but not curvy enough around the rump section for me. The redhead was better in my opinion, too…
Hm, I’m trying to imagine what it would be like to have a whole giant harem, but they’re all clones of each other… I feel like that would defeat the purpose of having more than 1…

Lol @ Ghost Protocol being a good movie. Sawyer from Lost was the best thing in it by far. There was no reason to climb the Burj Kalifa at all other than to polish Cruise’s ego. Ethan Hunt was supposed to unlock something on a higher floor using his sticky wanking gloves, he climbed up only to find he couldn’t unlock shit, then like an extreme Old King Cole, climbed down again and the mission continued as if nothing ever happened. Really? You didn’t enjoy it?
Man the Burj Khalifa sections with the climbing and the sandstorm were one of the most impressive aspects of the film. The location and filming of the surrounding area made for some incredible visuals. The action scenes were incredible throughout, but those in particular were incredibly satisfying for me. As much as the film’s magnum opus is in it’s action sequences, there was something about this one that just seemed more classy and a lot more cleverly sequenced than previous entries.
The character dynamics were better than in previous films, I like the way their personalities were set up in this one, Simon Pegg’s character in particular was a stand out for me, he played it extremely well.
To me the Mission Impossible films have only gotten progressively better with each title, I can’t wait to see if they make another one.[/quote]
The thing about ghost protocol is it really shouldn’t be analyzed from any other perspective than just a series of awesome action sequences. That’s all it was, pure action entertainment. The story was nonsense, the characters were nonsense, the writing and dialogue were nonsense. The action…outstanding.
I liked the film a lot probably because I really had no expectations for it to be anything more than just a cool action flick.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen really good tense action scenes like that…the car chase, the Kremlin, the car manufacturing plant, the tower…all spectacular.
