Obama's Job Approval

Uhh…Click Click…why?

Great link. It disappoints me when I learn that some Democrats voted what I think is the right way on something, but I don’t see their names and thus have no one to give credit to.
As an aside, we are seeing more and more “defections” on the Big Policy programs - witness the Democratic mutiny (via the Blue Dogs) on health care, and the tabling of cap-and-trade in the Senate.

Obama has the best (realistic) Congress he could have for rubber-stamping his bold changes, but his radical changes are losing steam by the day.

It was “smart” of the dems to begin the sotomayor hearings now.

In a few months, obama’s going to be radioactive.

It would have been fun to watch his party at those hearings in October.

It seems the Congressional Democrats are in a different party than Executive branch. Democrat party unity ftw(insert sarcastic laugh) Let them wallow in the shit-storm they are percolating. Change(the good kind) will come eventually.

At least they didn’t fuck with the defense budget.

Ohhhh, that’s coming too. If you want to count the F-22 program and the proposed cuts in missile defense it’s already here.

Other than cutting missile defense – I mean, who needs that. If only they had succeeded in killing it every year the way they had wanted to at the time. Think how wonderful that would be! No doubt North Korea and Iran wouldn’t be working on nuclear bombs and long-range missiles to carry them if the US hadn’t provoked them by building missile defense systems. As usual, it’s America’s fault. I don’t think Obama has got around yet to apologizing to the world for missile defense, but it probably is coming soon.

Since someone mentioned it, I recently saw this pic of an F-22 while creating a sonic boom.

Bill,

I was just referring to how Obama hasn’t, as of yet, proposed sweeping cuts in manpower like Clinton did. I don’t agree with any of the nonsense he speaks of about US nuclear disarmament/ missile defense bans/ the ludicrous closing of bases stateside while we maintain bases in S.Korea. Like Clausewitz said, “To secure peace is to prepare for war.”

Considering the DoD budget for next year is up around $670 billion, I think we’ll be fine.

50 trillion in debt, versus 60 trillion…big deal.

The economy has to collapse, the currency has to be repudiated, and all debts to foreigners have to be repudiated (no elected official dares enslave everyone to pay off debt). Once the collapse happens, we’ll get martial law and all the above can commence.

America should emerge way more powerful than we are today. All the suckers who lent us money will be goat fucked.

This would necessitate instant isolationism on a truly frightening level. A refusal to repay our international debts would be tantamount to a declaration of war on those countries we are indebted too. I doubt they would attempt an invasion, but our geo political/moral credibility would be permanently shot. I am not one to be unduly concerned with what other nations think of us, but it’s a different ballgame if we legitimatize their disdain by ripping them off.
What’s the other choice? How can anyone pay more than they could even dream about being worth? They deserve it anyway – would you lend money to a friend who has, say, 100 million in debt and earns $40,000 a year? If you did, then consider it a gift, not a loan.

The people have had enough.

As big of a freshman President we could ever have has had free reign on too many things and in a heartbeat it is very clear the road we have ahead. Socialism.

I pray we have enough true blooded Americans in the house and senate to finally realize this is exactly what we died fighting against. We fought to save our freedoms, rights , liberty, and fought against excessive taxes and governmental tyranny through these taxes against it’s own people.

Here in CA, where spending is a right to our elected members…Gavin Newsom, Jester of SF has now banned all donut purchases for any and all SF city staff meetings. People no longer can choose to eat it or not. People are now told in the city staff what eat during business events. The feds are now launching into school food. It’s up to parents and society to do this. Pack your kids F-ing lunch! This freak is planning on running for CA Governor.

Back to the new shift in our representatives voting…

I hope and pray the founding principles of this country will ultimately save us and get congress to rein in this whacko we have in office.
It doesn’t matter who you elect. This country is headed for a catastrophe to rival the collapse of Imperial Spain. Its mathematically cast in stone.

If a giant meteor was headed toward you, would it really matter who you elected?

Isn’t missile defense going to get cheaper once these things a fully tested and functioning regularly? I mean I think a lazer is a lot easier to control than hitting a missile with another missile. Pretty soon everyone will have these on the ground and in the air, so even our missiles will be pretty much useless. Thats when we will have to use thors hammer. Can’t stop them with a missile or a laser. Every day, lazer technology gets better and cheaper. I would be very surprised if other countries don’t already have this in development as well.

For those of you who don’t know what thors hammer is.

Yeah, but that would be a space weapon, and Obama doesn’t believe in America having or developing those.

Vegita, we will awlays have hit-to-kill missile defenses. Gotta have multiple layers, redundancy is key.

Sure, but he will only be here for 4 years so thats not really a long time for a project like that. What I was getting at is that in the not too distant future, Laser defense systems will dominate any areial force weather it be missles or planes. The only hope an aircraft would have against a laser defense system would be complete stealth. I don’t even think the f22 project is worth the money. An F22 would be easily shot down by a laser defense system, as would any ordinance it could release. Again, today, not so much but in as little as 10 but surely 20 years a majority of the world powers will most likley have advanced laser defence systems and probably some of the lesser powerful countries will have adequate ones as well. Now sure we are on the leading edge of this technology, but it will be a great equalizer because at this point, Our Air superiority, including our missles, have been the real separating factor in our global military might. If russia or china could easliy shoot anything out of the air that comes thier way from us, what would they have to fear? We going to put boots on the ground against either of those two? Haha Yea right.

I would hesitate to use absolutes like “always”. Someone in the 1700’s might have said the same thing about cannons.

If missle hit rates drop to near zero in an active combat situation, people will stop using them, if people stop using them. Why would we need to have missles to counter missles which don’t exist, especially when we have technology that can stop them cleaner, faster and more accurately at much lower costs.

pass this around enough and maybe his approval rating will drop another point or two.

Pretty stunning if you look at it that way.
