Obama: No Photo Op, No Visit

    True

Not sure exactly what he was told, so can’t comment.

False. He made the basketball shot while in Kuwait visiting troops.

We’ll all forget that McCain was ready to attack him had he actually visited the hospital anyways.

Because he clearly never visited a military hospital with congressman and no media while in Iraq. And we’ll ignore the fact that the travelling press was not invited along, it was supposed to be him and his staffer who is ex-military.

Hey, McCain’s voting record speaks of some serious love for the troops himself.

You mean the man who is making this a political issue and was ready to use it to his advantage had Obama actually visited the hospital?

I don’t think the Army hospital disinvited him. In fact it’s naive to think so. He cancelled the visit and that reinforced the opinion a lot of people already have about him and his competence to command the military.[/quote]

The Pentagon was the one who contacted the Obama camp concerning the trip and its status at congressional vs campaign.

Where in the world do you find your facts?

That whole photo-op/visit story is a pile of bullshit.

McCain is just desperately grabbing at straws because he’s got nothing to run on.

So what is Obama “running on” that you like, and why?

True

  1. Obama was told he must follow the rules and protocol for hospital visits. Likely when the visit was planned, but certainly before the visit was scheduled.

Not sure exactly what he was told, so can’t comment.

  1. Obama cancelled the visit and either went shopping or played basketball.

False. He made the basketball shot while in Kuwait visiting troops.

Both sides went into spin mode to take advantage of an obvious mistake. McCain to point it out and score points. Obama to make it appear like it wasn’t an error at all.

We’ll all forget that McCain was ready to attack him had he actually visited the hospital anyways.

From Obama’s point of view it was a chance to score political points and appear like he is supporting the troops and thanking them for their service. When he couldn’t make it a campaign stunt and have the travelling press laud over him it ceased to have value and he changed plans.

Because he clearly never visited a military hospital with congressman and no media while in Iraq. And we’ll ignore the fact that the travelling press was not invited along, it was supposed to be him and his staffer who is ex-military.

It’s just politics. It’s quiet clear that Obama doesn’t support the troops mission and it is well known to them. The visit may not have went as he planned as those guys aren’t officers who have to attend a Senators visit, but grunts.

Hey, McCain’s voting record speaks of some serious love for the troops himself.

McCain as a wounded war veteran and also a sitting US Senator found this behavior unbelievable and pointed it out to his advantage.

The news sources same as you.

The difference is you made up your mind and then selected opinions to back them up. The opinions you stated are conjecture not facts.

The only facts are that he had a trip scheduled, he cancelled it and he did something else.

He was called out on it and then made a justification that makes no sense to anyone who doesn’t already fall in line with his lind of shit.

I’m no fan of McCain but Barack screwed the pooch big time on this. If McCain did something equally as stupid Obama would be whining like a little girl.

Lastly as a former soldier don’t assume to know what the “well being of the troops” is all about. I’ll give you a clue it has nothing to do with educational benefits, medical benefits etc. That stuff is great but what men in the field consider support is far different from what those back in the US, especially politicians, consider support.
Pop on over to the war room and you will see what the actual and former troops consider important to themselves.
