As a Christian, I’m called to forget about myself and invest all of my energy into the well-being of others, trusting that God will provide for me. If I show the “worry about yourself” attitude, I consider it my failure.[/quote]

Did you miss the thread title, this is for showing how you don’t care, I have started a thread that you can go show how much you care (and annoy people in the process).

It’s Ayn Rand’s fault.

I started a (couple) threads on my own drama. About all the responses were postive. I like the fact that I can come and air my laundry and get help. We wouldn’t be human if we didn’t help each other out. What would you rather do, cast out the ones who are affected by whatever is going on in their life? Leave the sick, old and weary to the wolves?

That’s a rhetorical question.

And another thing: What about karma? Helping your fellow man pays huge dividends.

Oh, sorry bruh. I am a dumb D=

I’ve tried help people achieving their objectives, be it getting stronger/bigger on the gym, obtaining financial freedom and the bottom line for everything is: THEY DON’T FUCKING CARE!

Human have something called EGO and most of them don’t want any help even if they are heading towards their doom, the only ones who listened to what i said were the ones that CAME to me and asked: “how can i improve in this particular area?”

I mean, you don’t need to be an asshole to everyone, but every damn time in life that i’ve tried to help someone who didn’t ask for any help i just end up getting frustrated and mad with the person.

But that doesn’t mean you need to give up, giving the example is the best help you can offer someone, be a role model, someone they aspire to be like someday, and when they respect you they will ask for your advices.

I do not believe in karma, since I’m not a Hindu or a Buddhist.

Whether or not you believe in ‘Karma’, one thing’s for sure: if you go around acting like a complete bastard, you increase your chances of stepping on the wrong set of toes; if you treat everyone around you like shit, then you push away the people who would help you if you fell. There is a definite truth there, it’s just that most people choose to dismiss that truth because it was supposedly issued by a fat guy in a cloud. The idea is still sound.

It’s almost like that law of physics where an action has an equal and opposite reaction. I mean it’s not, but it’s similar or something.

Exactly! A lot of “recent” scientific breakthroughs and modern philosophical concepts have a lot in common with the underlying messages in ancient religions. People usually don’t make the connection because their own religious views get in the way, or they can’t see the underlying message in the first place.

Amazing how we can accept one but not the other when it’s really just the same thing stated in different terms.

Interesting link to support my last comment:

There are analogues of the concept of Karma in every major religion. Same thing, different phrasing. I’d consider that an example of a “universal truth”. Strange how so many of us don’t see what is right in front of us or are afraid to look…

I think with the technology today, and the fact that bad news carries more weight, and is therefore being reported to us on a 24 hour basis, human beings have really no choice but to become indifferent to others’ suffering. To a degree, constant emotional trauma is the norm and we have psychologically adapted.

The real problem is what i call: INFORMATION OVERLOAD, people now want to get info 24h hours a day, fuck twitter, fuck ipad, fuck blackberry/iphone.

WHO CARES?!?!!? lots of technology and SAME results people are still poor with all those gadgets and weak at the gym, they get caught on those fads like P90X abs workout instead of looking at what is working for like 60 years on bodybuilding

Truth. Have to be mindful when giving unsolicited help, but it’s often worthwhile to respond to a request.

You know it is ironic that you tell your philosophy to other people, the same people that you want to stress.

You know when you had your avatar of you long ago I remember I taught you looked like a total asshole, and it seems that looks are not that misguiding
