NH_Watts' TRT Log

Can you correlate the palpitations with the last few days before your next shot? Before I moved to E3.5D that two days I would be getting hot flashes and being generally moody. It was very apparent. None of that now.

I took a shot 1/18 Papls and some mild hot flashes started around the same time later on 1/20. I think it’s when e2 is on the way up and then on the way down. So it makes sense to do more frequent injections. Am wondering maybe to do labs on the 3rd day. But I plan on asking for a repeat lab request to check t, free t, shbg, e2 when I want so I can dial in as best as I can.

In the back of my mind I still think it’s the thyroid if u look at the thyroid labs on chart. I don’t want to hijack your thread.

Has your thinking on HCG changed? Still don’t know if I should ask for it.

You may be right on the e2. I could feel it when I was injecting less frequently.

I dont know enough about the labs to comment on thyroid. I dont really care about hijacking. No worries.

Regarding HCG, I may consider if my nuts get any smaller but I think generally its like 2/3 normal size which is about where I am at. I may mention it to my doc just to see what he says. Im not opposed to it if its cheap, just not pressing.

Is your heart racing, or are you actually having palpitations? As in, skipping beats, irregular heartbeat…

I feel my heard pounding. I would not call it fast beat. Possible skip. Feel it esp when laying down. I went into cardiologist 2 months ago when my t tanked and he did not find anything then.

Ok, so big difference between feeling your heart pounding, and palpitations. Palpitations suggests that your heart is out of rhythm, or is skipping beats.

Have you seen the cardiologist since you’ve been having this heart pounding issue? You weren’t on TRT at that time.

Need to answer these… What are your RBC/HCT/HGB number and your BP. Sounds like your BP is high. (or possibly too low, pounding can be high or low)

This story is depressing.

If you crash your dose by day 14, increasing the dose still leaves you crashed at day 14. RBC and hematocrit can be adversely affected.

Waiting to see what endo does. As a rule they are the worst as a group.

Not sure if you are responding to my thread or to Charlie12’s posts? I am on E3.5Ds and Charlie is on E6D.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

I got some 29g 1/2" pins (10 for $9.98 shipped…a little pricey) and am going to try @KSman sub q suggestion for a few weeks to see if I like it or notice any difference. Currently alternating quad IM with 25g 1" which is fine but I guess I need to consider holes from IM over the next however many years I live after 46. If I live to 76 that’s over 3,000 holes or 1,500 per quad. Here’s is hoping medical research develops a better delivery method. I dont mind the injections but the trauma sounds substantial. That being said if SQ works fine then I will just convert.

I have an appt with a new doc tomorrow afternoon. An endocrinologist that ā€œspecializesā€ in testosterone deficiency. This was at the request of my doctor who is overwhelmed with my questions. I hope it will be a good visit but I have to be realistic as well. Im dreading the old ā€œI need you to come off of testosterone for 6 weeks so that I can run my own labsā€ request. But since I have been on T for 4 full months, and Im 46, Im not sure that that is even feasible.

Endo, ā€œWhat we want to do is have you come off of testosterone for a full 90 days so we can run some tests to determine what the real cause is and treat from there.ā€
Me, ā€œThat sounds awful.ā€
Endo, ā€œYes it does.ā€

When pressed for E2 testing and managing my current protocol the endo said all he wanted to do was get me off and get a baseline with tests and perhaps treat from there if I am truly low testosterone. When pressed for script assistance with PCT he declined and said it was unnecessary.

Setting up an appt with a teaching endo (at a big fancy school) for a second opinion. Perhaps being a teacher he will be up on more current trends and protocols and IF he wants a reset will at least get me on some HCG etc.

Is there any special time during injection schedule where I should get my E2 checked? Does it fluctuate with T levels?

You get E2 labs along with your other labs day of injection, but before injection.

Thanks @systemlord Doc requested next T level be pulled in between injections. The E2 test is me doing my own thing through Quest. Doc or Endo wouldn’t test for it.

They simply don’t know any better and their not going to allow the patient to run the show, these HMO doctors don’t have medical freedom. They can only operate within a narrow guidelines, nothing more.

$90 through health-tests-direct via Quest Labs. Small price to gain the information that I need to make proper adjustments.

It beats paying the co-pay and running into resistance with your doctor, not that your doctor is going to know a proper course of action if she doesn’t understand the importance of E2 testing.

At least you will know what to do.

Exactly. I was surprised it was so cheap honestly. Going in tomorrow morning and results in 5-8 days. Anastrozole on order, cheap enough as well. Im obviously anxious to sort this out.

Quest calls it the estradiol ultra sensitive.
