The Todd Haley experiment in Pittsburgh must be terminated. I’m kind of grateful I had to work last night instead of witnessing that horrible display. This team feels like an early nineties Steeler team. At this point I might like to see Bubby Brister take a few snaps. At least the defence isn’t horrid. Ben and the doctors say he’s all healed up from his shoulder injury but I see a different throwing motion and it doesn’t look good, more of a flick than a throw.

I love how one game doesn’t mean shit, but if the niners won, he be swinging his dick around like a wrecking ball.
And yeah, I have trouble mulling through the histrionics to find the point.

That was a weird game, but I think both defenses played well. Both offenses looked a little off. I don’t think it was a horrible display for either team. Of course, I didn’t have a dog in the fight so I would be more upset if it were my team. Both offenses looked weak, the Steelers O-line was a disappointment for sure. When it comes to it, that’d be the reason I’d point to as to why they lost. Ben was throwing under pressure the whole night. He didn’t play great, but he wasn’t bad either. His line let him down.
I was plenty pissed off about the Saints game last week. I hate the Saints more than any other team. Mainly because no matter the record we have trouble with them. This week Atl played pretty woeful but we won, but I have concerns, particularly since we lost 5 starters in the game. If Stephen Jackson is out for a stretch, our run game is in trouble, big trouble.
Why so negative and jaded pat?
It’s all good my man. It’s just football.

What’s up with your boys? Losing to KC and my man Alex Smith? What happened to their secret sauce?

Dude didnt get to see the game live, watched it last night on Directv online.
This D was going to take about 6 games to transition into the Tampa 2. I dont think we have all the personnel in place yet. KC is a rough place to play and Andy knows the Boys like no other.

Good points.
I didn’t see the game either but Dallas looked good in week 1. Bryant is a stud and it looks like he finally pulled his head out of his ass.
KC is a sleeper wild card team this year. I think they’re going to be pretty good this year with smith. He doesn’t lose games and they have a pretty good D and running game. They had 6 pro bowlers last year right?

If Charles stays healthy they have a shot for sure. They are not going to throw up 30+ points a game, but with that D they can keep it close like they did against Dallas.

I know I’m hard on my team Pat but the o-line has been awful for years however they’ve won SB’s with terrible lines before. Once Bell comes back it should help somewhat but I just don’t know what to think of this team this season. Losing Pouncy(again) is huge. No matter what happens I’ll still wearing my Steeler garb on gameday ![]()

You know it DJ. He was having a career year last season before he got hurt. How long is this zone blocking scheme supposed to take to learn? two years? Ben won’t last that long.

Did that sound jaded? I didn’t mean it too… It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Baseball playoffs and the start of the football season. What’s not to love…

I get it. I am hard on my team too. Just because I see things that should be so obvious that I don’t understand what the team is doing, like Jacquizz Rodgers is NOT an every down back, but they used him in place of Jackson on Sunday and he was terrible. Totally killed our ground game. I don’t understand when Snelling was a much better choice for running back. 'Quizz got 11 carries for a whopping 17 yards. 10 of which came on the last 2 snaps of the game. Prior to that, he was 9 and 7. That’s just pitiful. If Jackson is out this week, I am a little worried in that Miami seems like a potential dark horse.
I also have concerns about slamming the door shut. We were up 24 to 3 in the first half, but then the offense, thanks to 'Quizz got 4, 3 and out drives in the 3rd and by the 4rth Q our defense was absolutely gassed. In the end, I think we are just to soft on other teams and it’s frustrating to no end to watch because throwing the dirt on the coffin should be easier than getting up 3 positions on another team, but we do the former much easier than the latter.
As for the Steelers I am not sure how to gauge them just yet. I know that 0-2 isn’t this team and that they will get much better down the stretch, but I have a hard time placing them. So I guess we’ll see.

And I DID lose an avatar bet in this game, but to whom I’m not sure. I just remember it was some uppity fucking asshole from Idaho and we’ve got the same bet already lined up for the rematch in December. We made the bet so long ago that I don’t remember who it was with. But I’m a man of my word so I expect whoever I owe one month’s worth of an ego-crushing avatar to come on here and provide it.
But provide it soon. The terms of our bet were that I would use the avatar for one month, starting right after the game. If whoever I lost to comes on here in late October when I will owe chillain an avatar (assuming Kershaw finishes the year with a sub-2.00 ERA), that boat will have sailed. I have about a year’s worth of avatar bet commitments that are going to start realizing themselves in the next month or so, and if you don’t provide me with the avatar you want me to use when it’s time for the next person to potentially collect on a bet you go to the back of the line. So hurry the fuck up with your stupid fucking Dave Krieg avatar so I can get this the fuck over with.[/quote]
That was me. I completely forgot about it
