The fact 49er fan hatred of the Cowboys has lasted until 2012, and is still as strong as it was in 1998 is both amazing and awesome.
No offense to Cowboy fans, but god it cracks me up.
Doesn’t everyone outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area hate the Cowgirls?
Actually, I had become pretty indifferent toward them recently until I attended the game against the Niners last year. Waaaaaay too many Cowgirls fans in the 'Stick that day. But that’ll never happen again.

It’s a hatred that runs deep and is never too far from the surface.
Both have fallen off the map and been mediocre - bad or so long it has died down some what. Now that San Fran is back in the top teams and Dallas is still mediocre it will start to flare back up.

No, it goes back much further, to the 1970-71 Championship games. John Brodie and Staubach had quite the rivalry back then.

Maybe but 49rs were not really relevant back then.

A team that made the NFC Championship Game two years in a row, playing in a major U.S. metropolitan area, wasn’t relevant? I laugh.

Well they were relevant locally, and you know its not bullshit why Cowboys got labeled Americas team. They were one of the few teams shown nation wide on TV starting in the 70’s that is major reason why you have people in Cali showing up to 49rs games wearing Cowboys gear even today.
Plus 49rs got beat both 70 and 71 by the Cowboys and didnt come back to that point until ten years later.

You do realize that the shotgun was the early progenitor of the spread offense and that the shotgun formation was invented by the Niners back then, right? That offense was ahead of its time, just like the West Coast offense with Walsh a decade later.

Yes and Dallas was one of the last teams to even consider going into the shotgun.
I was born then, so I dont remember much
I hated the 49rs when I was younger, but the older I get the more I am just becoming a NFL fan. I really dont hate many teams any longer.
I think most people will always remember the 49rs for the 80’s that is their decade and there is nothing wrong with that.
Gronkowski lay out Ray Lewis…awesome. Im so fucking tired of the contrived blow hard that is Ray Lewis, how the fuck did this guy become a media darling. Fuck him.
Things I wish I saw yesterday…
I wish I saw that replacement ref punch bellidick in the face. That would have been awesome.
Oh not that the Jets were gonna do much this year but with Revis in the fold, the playoffs were a definite possibility. Now…
Season
Over.
Fuck you Mike Tannenbaum, Rex Ryan and Woody… How the fuck do you expect to have a “ground and pound” offense with no running backs. Even though the following backs were available and would have been perfect fits.
Michael Bush and BJGE
How do you expect your QB to get better with no wide receivers and 0 weapons…Guys like Robert Meachem, Jabat Gafney, Danario Alexander and even Plaxico would have been upgrades.
Gotta love that Jets pass rush…fucking bunch of dickseats.
Quinton Coples and Muhamad Wilkerson have been non existent. are two first rounders.
Now we have to face a niner pass rush that is gonna be pissed. If I go to the game on Sunday, I will not be paying attention I will be hanging out by the womens bathroom asking to see tits, because I have a much better shot at seeing some drunk boobies then a Jets victory next week.

Sorry Matty.
Are they like right at the top of the cap or what?
Im really not sure, but I cant imagine they have any room. I swear I think Santonio Holmes would be happier than a pig in shit if he caught his 128 yards of passes and they still lost…he seems so fucking selfish…How could we think otherwise after he signed that big contract the NY post had a picture of him in the back page popping Crystal in a hottub…fuck.

"At first Walsh was quite upset by the misnomer. “Call it the Walsh Offense, or the Cincinnati Offense,” he said, “but not the West Coast Offense. That’s something completely different.”

Could not agree more. The guy is a goddamned fraud and it fucking nauseates me every time I hear that motherfucking murderer start pontificating about football as a metaphor for life or whatever. It’s a fucking GAME dude. Get over yourself.

I was watching the NFL Network yesterday afternoon and they were talking about him. LT(who is now on there in case anyone didnt know) mentioned that Sanchez and him hardly ever talk still. How can that work? Why is he still on the team? They make it sound like at least 3/4 of the team is against him.
Those back to back hits on Schaub yesterday were brutal. He got layed out, illegal, yes, but still awesome. Also, in the 49’s game, the refs fucked up big time allowing the 49’s that challenge after they had used their last time out.

I dont know man I think that shit is overrated…theres been plenty of sports teams that didnt get along (1978 yankees come to mind) you win and all of sudden all is right. Now LT (and alot of other ex athletes for that matter) become talking heads and have to add to the dissension because they feel they have to add something.
