Yep I am now ready to start him in one of my FF leagues. I was waiting to see how that knee was going to hold up.

This had better bring the pro refs back, cause that was fucking horrible first half, I went to bed (4:15 comes early) so hopefully the second half was better
No kidding. But will this cause the lockout to end any sooner? Doubt it. The NFL will stick to their guns.
The refs will fold soon, dude they make $150,000+ a year plus have other jobs.
I hope they do fold soon. If I was a player, I would go up and give one a hug when they arrived back at work.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, if the Bears miss the playoffs, whether Cutler improves or not, Chicago will look either in the draft or FA for their new QB. If he played like an elite QB, you can overlook the poor attitude and leadership. But with his recent performances, he is losing any allies he had left.

There was a reason Denver got rid of him.

And there’s something to be said for the fact that Skip Bayless fucking loves the guy.

Just one? I’m not a Tebow fan, but I’d take him over Cutler. At least Tebow doesn’t start fights and run his mouth nonstop about how hard his teammates suck.

skip bayless is an absolute idiot.

him and steven a smith are the two worst people on ESPN. I havent watched their show in 6+ months because I can’t stand those two idiots.

lol

They almost make we want to boycott ESPN entirely. I don’t understand why ESPN cheapens itself by endorsing those two dipshits. Well, aside from the money they apparently rake in, I don’t.

That show is like PWI for sports.

What I really don’t like about it is that it seems to have somehow created many of the stories those two purport to discuss. If Skip Fucking Bayless wasn’t on that goddamned show shoving Tebow’s half-turgid cock into his mouth for two segments a day, five days a week, the guy wouldn’t be nearly the “story” that he is now. The whole thing with Derek Jeter was a gross violation of any and all journalistic standards that even the lowest of scum within the journalism world would have been embarrassed to use a show with that much visibility to essentially take a huge shit all over their own integrity. Of course, I would expect nothing less from the biggest piece of shit in the sporting press since every serious journalist knows that sportswriters are the scourge of the writing community.

Steven A Smith is a basketball guy so I respect his opinion on basketball/NBA related matters. He can be very entertaining. I also like his perspective on occasional social issues that get channelled directly or indirectly through sports (race stories in sports etc). As far as his opinions on other sports - I could care less.

Skip Bayless is a shock jock. His whole value is predicated on him making outlandish statements that get talked about in the sports community.

So it makes you not want to watch any programming on a network just because you don’t like one guy, on one show, for one hour each weekday? How does that make any sense? That’s like saying you don’t want to watch the NBA because you hate LeBron or watch the NFL because you think Bill Belichick and the Patriots are cheaters.

If you don’t like a particular person on TV, why NOT boycott the station that pays him a small fortune to make an ass of himself and generally pollute the sporting dialogue in this country?

ESPN is as responsible, if not more, for Bayless’ ass-pirate as Bayless himself. They fucking encourage it by hiring him in the first place, they exacerbate the situation by giving him carte blanche to spew his bullshit all over everyone within hearing distance and they further undermine their own credibility (and therefore increase the likelihood that I or Gregron or anyone else gives one flying fuck what most of the people on that station have to say) by giving extra weight to the topics that Bayless is obsessed with during shows like SportsCenter.

Shit, Stephen A. Smith isn’t even much of a basketball analyst and he doesn’t know shit about any other sport. Bayless doesn’t know shit about ANY sport, period, but he knows how to suck Tebow’s dick and use his forum to essentially make fun of athletes rather than engage in any legitimate analytical debate.

What do you think about Pardon The Interruption?

An incredibly well written (and well executed) back-and-forth of insightful opinions.

They’re not often really arguing there…
Gettnitdone wrote:

I’m usually still at work when it comes on, but from what I’ve seen of it I don’t think much of it at all.

Let’s get one thing straight here: anyone who is a pretty big sports fan, maybe played several sports throughout their childhood or played in high school or college, and watches games other than their favorite teams’ on a semi-regular basis knows just as much about sports than any of these fuckers on ESPN, perhaps significantly more as in my case, aside from the former players they have as analysts. Even some of them aren’t all that on the ball and their knowledge is generally limited to one sport.

And I’ve gotta admit, some of these former players are absolutely excruciating to watch while they mangle the fucking English language in a futile attempt to string more than two sentences together. Why guys like them, or Merril Fucking Hoge and that motherfucking awful tie he wears each night (why even bother with a tie? why not just get it over and wear a fucking ascot, you goddamned Sally?), ever get put on the air is beyond me. Like someone’s prediction about the big game means anything more if it’s coming from some punch-drunk retired football player with eight kids from nine different women.

So I don’t know why people watch shows like PTI or that lame show hosted by Tony Reali with regularity to begin with. It’s nothing more than watching a couple of fucking self-righteous morons with an inflated sense of self-worth talk about sports. If I want to watch that shit I can just videotape my friends and I talking about sports and then watch it every evening at 8pm after Jeopardy! finishes up. Hell, the shit-talking that goes on between us is FAR more entertaining than anything on ESPN, and that’s all that Bayless really does. He gets paid to talk shit and ESPN is the one paying him to do so and then turning around and creating a “story” out of athletes’ reactions to all the shit-talking.

Kornheiser and Wilbon are class acts compared to Smith and Bayless, but they’re just a couple bobblehead dolls rambling on about sports they never played and who somehow think that because they failed at REAL writing and had to settle for sportswriting, and then failed at THAT and had to stoop even lower by going onto ESPN and shitting pure drivel out of their mouths, that their opinion has any more validity than a fucking hobo who passed out in the back of some outback shithole bar that happened to have the fucking game on the TV. The ironic thing is that the lower they stoop, the more degenerates like them get paid. It’s indicative of everything that is wrong with every facet of this country’s pop culture, sports included.

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not (I’m more inclined on the latter).

I’ve been watching PTI since 2002 (less now than before) and have really enjoyed it. I think both Tony and Wilbon have a wide and experienced knowledge of sports. However, recently I’ve come to find out some people hate the show. I’m thinking, with the other sports shows out there, how people can carry such sentiment.

You’re correct, no sarcasm intended.

I just suspect that many don’t realize just how tightly scripted a show like that has to be.

I stopped watching any coverage on ESPN other than College football and now its more ESPN U that I follow. They live by that adage if there is no news then we will create the news.

We lose a fucking great man and journalist in Steve Sabol and fucktards like Skip Bayless still get to breath its a fucking shame.

I will also say the rest of ESPN’s programming is geared to the lowest common denominator, they do not talk football any more. They are the TMZ of sports, they will spend 30 fucking minutes going on how some athlete overcome being an only child with a crack whore mom then actually going over injury report. I watched them from the very fucking beginning of air and they have just gotten to big and superficial.
