TEBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
I hope that was the straw that breaks the camels back (so to speak) Norv Turner and AJ Smith need to be fired after this season. They have run the Chargers into the ground and need to go.
Day after the last game of the season no matter what the result Norv is gone, even when he shows emotion and gets angry he looks like tool, sounds like Audry Hepburn. Let’s see…it will be Monday Jan 2.
I hope so. Norv is a big dummy bird. I really hope they shit can AJ Smith too. That guy has screwed over SD so many times and gotten rid of so many good players.
They need to clean house.
Too bad Urban Meyer is going to Ohio State because that would have been a pretty interesting hire.
The whole Drew Brees thing still bugs the FUCK out of me.
Michael Turner too.
Brees loved SD and hoped to stay, he played his balls off and they still dealt him. When he left, so did the blue collar attitude. Rivers has never been that kind of leader.

Brees was a free agent and he left on his own terms. I don’t blame the Chargers for that. That was more of Marty’s fault. That year the Chargers were already out of the playoffs and A.J. Smith wanted to start Philip Rivers for the first time to see what he got. Marty didn’t want to and started Drew Brees instead. Brees tore his labrum in the last meaningless game of the season and the prognosis wasn’t good. Chargers could only keep one QB so they opted for their first round pick who was healthy. Brees ended up fully recovering which some experts didn’t believe he did. I’m happy he went to a good team.
Strungout, all due respect,
But your last sentence is exactly whats’ wrong with San Diego sports in General. I’ve heard the same thing said about Adrian Gonzales and Jake Peavy (former Padres) so many times at the bar or on the radio it makes shiver. “good for him, nice to see he got a chance to compete…”
Fuuuck that shit.
San Diego fans need to realize that their teams are THEIR teams and fuck everybody else. None of these GM’s get called onto the carpet by the local media because nobody here thinks the teams need to be worth a shit… And if they are? Well that’s a bonus. It’s only been a very recent development that the Chargers have been worth a shit, they earned the #1 2004 draft pick because they were God-awful in 2003.
Anyways,
Brees was a Charger, should have stayed a Charger, shouldn’t have been a part of a business decision that left the offense vulnerable and in a mode to re-tool. I don’t think Marty was at fault for what happened to Drews’ shoulder. He wanted to fucking smoke Denver, why wouldn’t you start your starter? The Chargers did offer Drew 50 million over 5 years but only two million was guaranteed, basically saying “go fuck yourself buddy you’re washed up.” Brees got to NOLA and dominated, won ten games and got them to the NFC Championship. Michael Turner was a Charger that should have stayed a Charger. Ladanian was showing his age and he should have been dealt for draft picks WAY before Turner was allowed to go.
So, they kept the inexperienced quarterback, but let the young RB with the fresher legs go and kept the aging LT because he’s a household name?
That’s business that doesn’t make sense to me.

Baseball is different than football. In baseball it’s impossible for a small market team to keep a super star when the Yankees and Red Sox throw all kinds of money at them. Football is different, there are salary caps. It’s all fair game.
As far as letting Brees go, what should they have done with Rivers? Rivers has been really good except this year. You can’t keep two franchise QBs on one team where they are both getting paid bank. Should I still be upset that five years ago the Chargers let him go? I’m over it and that is why I say i’m glad he won a Super Bowl. Trust me though, I hate what the team has turned in to and hope that major changes are coming.
Also, the Chargers year to go all the way was the first under Rivers when they hosted the AFC divisional game and lost to the Patriots. They should have won the game, but Marlon McGree decided to try and run back an interception instead of falling down and securing the win and then fumbles it.
Oh, and Jake Peavy, that was a good trade. The guy was totally injury prone and the Padres had to get rid of him. I just wished they traded him sooner when he had more value.
