That amount of anastrozole around 1/2mg per week. If you are an anastrozole over-responder, you should aim for 1/4mg per week.
Stop for 5-6 days, then resume with the lower dose.

Your SHBG might be having an effect on your E2 balance.

does anyone know why I would be gaining weight significantly on anastrozole instead of losing it?

So my last e2 lab was 40 (<39) and I was able to beg my dr into giving me anastrozole. I’m only taking 1/64th mg a day diluted in vodka and am still getting very painful joints. I feel great for a day or two then crash. How is it even possible this amount is dropping me too low?! For a few days after starting the anastrozole I feel awesome. Blood pressure comes down quickly from 160/100 to perfectly normal. Heart rate drops from 100 down to 54. Erections wake me up at night and I’m good to go anytime.

After 3-4 days erections go away, constipation, joints click and hurt and I feel down. I know estradiol is the key to feeling better because I’ve tested it time and time again but I can’t go to the dr and tell him what I’m doing without him pulling me off of it. No matter what dose of anastrozole I take, after 4 days or so I have to back off. Being this sensitive to anastrozole would it be wise to even attempt aromasin?

I haven’t actually been able to get a lab reading while on anastrozole bc the issues arise too fast and I know I’m too low. What am I missing or doing wrong here? 50 mg test enanthate eod just for reference. Total test at 601. Free T at 201 (47-244)

Any thoughts on my last two posts? Still gaining weight and struggling to find that elusive sweet spot. It appears 1/4 mg a week is too much bc it sounds like I’m walking on bubble wrap when I walk and hips feel like they’re gonna lock up

I am extremely new to all this so excuse me if my idea is an utter noob failure and feel free to chuck it in the bin. But I know you must be in pain both mentally and physically and I also know what that is like.

If your test shots are causing the E2 to rise, and your current anastrozole dosage wears off in 3-4 days–what if you take the anastrozole and then 2 or 3 days later take your shot of test, which would begin to bring the E2 back up before it plummets again thus lengthening the sweet spot.

tlb4v:
You should try a low dose of Aromasin, anastrozole may not be for you. This rarely happens.

Ksman:
Since I am evidently a Super Responder to anastrozole…if I can manage to convince the endo to prescribe aromasin, at what dose would you recommend taking it to begin? Thank you for taking the reins and providing more knowledgeable advice than these ignorant drs.

You can try 10mg EOD and see what happens.

Ive got a new update and labs. So about 3 weeks ago I decided to give anastrozole another try. I did 1/4 mg a week split into daily doses by dissolving the pill in vodka and dosing accordingly. After only a few days I began to be super fatigued with no libido and joint issues as well as bad sleep. However, prostate problems resolved and blood pressure returned to normal. After 1 week I lowered the dose down to 1/8 mg a week. At the beginning of the next week, I got blood work.
Estradiol-43 (up from 40)
Total test-791 (up from 602)
Free test-266 ( up from 220)
Shbg-12 (up from 9)
I told the doc how much I was taking and he prescribed 1/8 mg 3xweek and 50 mg test 3xweek. I understand how testosterone levels went up but how did estradiol go up when I have all the symptoms of low estradiol?! I know aromasin might be a better option but the doc won’t go for it.

Someone help me get to the bottom of this terrible dizziness I’ve been experiencing for a while. I’m currently taking 50 mg test E 3x weekly and 1/8 mg anastrozole 3x weekly. My last set of labs looked like this…
Total testosterone - 725 (300-1080)
Free test- 246 (47-244)
Estradiol 19 (<39.8)
Shbg 10 (11-80)
With this protocol I’m much happier but experiencing severe dizziness and vision issues. I’m in excellent shape but can’t exercise bc I’m ready to pass out after doing just about anything. I also started gaining weight taking that amount of anastrozole. The dizziness seems to be worse in the morning until around lunch when it subsides. My libido comes and goes as well as morning and nighttime erections.

Have you ever tested prolactin?

Is your width of peripheral vision reduced? Should be near 180 degrees.
Concern would be a prolactin secreting pituitary adinoma that can create visual field disturbances if large and pressing on optic nerves.

When T was low, hematocrit was quite high. So may be higher now and perhaps limiting blood flow in your brain. Headaches? Feel pulse in your head? Shortness of breath=yes.

Ping me in KSman is here thread. I often do not follow old threads with many replies.

Yes- short of breath, decreased peripheral vision, and headaches particularly around my eyes and forehead. My rbc, hematocrit, and hemoglobin were all within range but at the very top. Do I just address you in the topic ksman is here? Or is there a private messaging I can use on here?

Private messages have been dropped on may sites as they were been used for illicit purposes. So we all suffer the loss.

We have to do it all here.

As of recent, I have begun using a different doctor. Current protocol is 300 mg test c per week given in 1 dose. I also mix my anastrozole with a measured amount of vodka and take it daily for a total of 1/2 mg per week. After 2 months on this protocol my numbers are:
Test- 425
E2-15
Shbg-9
Labs were pulled just before my next injection. The primary issues have been 5 days after the injection I have horrible mental slowness, libido disappears, no appetite, blood pressure spikes, and heart rate is much higher than typical at 75-80 when I’ve always been 50-60 at rest. Every time I check my BP, it may be 120/70 or more often than not 150/90s. CBC has been high and I’ve been donating blood. Tsh has been right around 1.2. I’ve tried multiple injections per week and that’s where the brain fog and mental slowness began that I haven’t been able to shake. Do any of you guys have advice as to which direction I should take or things I should request to have tested? I have my dr considering hcg bc we just can’t get my test to an idea level. Any advice would be appreciated.

Your protocol is all wrong, you should be injecting very small doses every day due to low SHBG. You shouldn’t be targeting anything above 500 ng/dL.

Based off information I gathered from these forums, I attempted 3x a week injections beginning at 50 mg each dose all the way down to 30 mg each dose. Multiple injections per week is where my current issues began so after 2 years I had to ditch them. I just want to feel mentally sharp and have a consistent libido again but I only get a few days at a time.

And the Dr won’t test free test which I know will be double the upper range.

I will also add that when taking 30 mg 3x week, my Rbc was stil over the top of range yet my test was low 300s.

Even at 30mg 3 times a week would send my RBC over the ranges, in order to control it you need to start thinking 6-8mg doses every day. I know it doesn’t seem like much but this is what you got to do because of low SHBG.
