I have to say Im dissapointed with HIM.They should have WAY more recognition than they get,such a great change of pace.
None of the above. I have taken more creative shits than music from those bands. I take it as a personal insult to have music suck so bad. I couldn’t tell you the diffence between those bands because they all sound the same. Ok, maybe a slight cord variation. I rather listen to a Yoko Ono solo album. At least it’s creative and different, even though it is torture.

Brad: If you added Dave Mathews and Korn on there you would have pretty much every band I hate. The White Stripes are the most annoying pieces of trash in the world. And Jet is just overplayed. Darkness is awful overplayed and catchy, a horrible combination. No offense by the way

dude everyone and their mother knows who 311 is (Maybe its cuase im from chi town?) but yeah there defnitly one of my favorite bands and pumpkins broke up along time ago but there last couple of albums sucked ass but their early stuff was good.

i thought the thread was “new sounds?” mr. bungle and radiohead are early 90’s [ mr.bungle may be even older]coldplay is a damn good group, staind has some good stuff, if a lil whiney, the white stripes are pretty cool, but they’ve been around for a good bit just not “mainstream”.the strokes are pretty cool too. music is in a really down peroid right now. if you wanna hear anything really worth listening to, check out your local scene and invade your nearest underground record store for the unknown. it’s worth the cash.
oh yeah, jeff rage is right. that outkast song is fuckin horrible. they’re up there with jay-z in the “overrated rapper” category.
Anyone listen to lostprophets? Their first album was good, but their new release,“Start Something”, is fan-fucking-tastic. I wouldn’t say it is revolutionary, but not too mainstream either (yet).
As someone said earlier stay old school or underground. I see and play with bands that would make mainstream bands look like chumps. Music now seems too wimpy and politically correct. I would rather hear a death metal band sing about rotting corpses, then some wimpy punk or “metal” band singin about their insecurities and mommy-daddy issues. Mainstream music is at the point now where it is ready for a big change. I think the only bands I liked in the last few years have been Queens of the Stone Age(they broke up by the way)and Porcupine Tree.
