New Faith in CA Schools

So are Socialism and wealth redistribution (the former at certain periods, the latter pretty well throughout our history), yet you clearly would take issue with the teaching of “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” in public schools. The point remains, there is no logical reason to select these values, other than the fact that they are your values.

First of all, they have NEVER been universally held, although they get less popular the more people of your persuasion are in power. Its amazing how popular socialistic policies become when free market capitalism is in full swing.

Second, I have never revealed my thoughts one way or the other on the Constitution. You’re grasping.

Lastly, in consideration of the foregoing fact, it is quite a leap to assert that I “will flog anything that represents its [Constitution] values.”

[quote]My “justification” is the US Constitution as a teaching of US HISTORY. I understand you would like to re-write the facts, but you can’t do that here.

On the contrary, it is YOU who is attempting to sweep aside a mountain of history that you find disquieting. That’s fine to teach the Constitution, but the Constitution is only one part of our history, and you ignore a lot of it.

Case in point, see the Texas School Board’s recent decision to whitewash history in favor of conservatism.
