Sweden is a competitive mixed economy featuring a generous universal welfare state financed through relatively high income taxes that ensures that income is distributed across the entire society, a model sometimes called the Nordic model.
But I thought high taxes and a welfare state is supposed to destroy the economy? The exact opposite has happened despite what the right-wing pundits and Fox News has said.
well my theories have been applied much to the success of developing markets - poverty has dropped by half, mortality rates are improving in sub-Saharan Africa, etc etc
on the flip side, you’re more than willing to implement your distributive policies which have been shown time and again to increase disease, poverty, desperation, and despotism … you’ll excuse me if I’m chide in derision at your seeming ignorance to real world results from free market economics and central planning … it’s fucking day and night … i mean you want a real world example? Look at Hong Kong and China. Look at Taiwan and China. China’s markets were closed for like 80 years … Hong Kong and Taiwan were not and they’re leaps and bounds in a better position economically AND wrt human rights. The Chinese realized this and have free trade zones that outpace the rest of their country…
Their unemployment rate is double ours and they have teh same percentage of people living below the poverty line all while extracting way more taxes and being even further in debt than we are as a measure of GDP.
Mmkay, how many times are you going to post this video? I think this is the third time. Your memory is shit so you probably don’t remember doing it…
I’m not really sure what you think it accomplishes either. I guess it’s supposed to be embarrassing for me. A) This movie is hilarious and B) I love America.
Is this justification to try and keep better alternatives from coming to the market because your company can’t profit from it? And consequently making the public suffer.
I’m not even going to pretend to know what an excerpt from a book or paper, you obviously didn’t read, about Medicare has to with single-payer systems limiting choices more than our system does. I’m certainly not going to pay for it.
So all those tax cuts are good? They make it a priority to buy politicians to make themselves wealthier. Usually this comes at the expense of the public. When taxes increase for those earning $75,000 or less. This goes into effect in 2027, while the corporate tax cut is permanent. A cut in social programs is also on the chopping block to help those who already have enough at the expense of those who continue to struggle.
