I’m just wondering, since many co-ops operate like a non-profit, who is going to pay all the taxes necessary to cover the billion social programs he’s in love with when they take over the economy?
Maybe we won’t need social programs once that happens as long as the government does not get involved in the market.
Which is why we don’t need Bernie.
Hmmm, maybe co-ops are the future…
I think I’m going to make it my mission to set up a co-op in the future. For the good of society.
Anything to keep Bernie out of office.
Wait, whut?? Impossibru

I’m saying the reason Pharma lobbied against medical weed doesn’t matter.
That’s a shame.
Bringing in over 500g of weed where I live can get you the death penalty if it makes you all feel any better.
(No, Big Pharma had nothing to do with it at all. Alternative Pharma/ traditional medicine is the one that’s in bed with the government. Not saying they had anything to do with the law pertaining to weed either.)
Just imagine that was a co-op, or several co-ops, that finally ousted all the evil corporations from the market through fair dealings because The People finally woke up.
Now they’re intending to make weed available for the good of society.
The government exercised it powers and said, “NO!” because they want the evil corporations back so they can get their pocket money.
How pissed would you be?
HOW FUCKING PISSED WOULD YOU BE???
Bernie and his cronies will have the power to do that for 4 years or more if you elect him.
Would you not support more freedom in the market AND put your efforts towards supporting co-ops if they have the potential to get that big through fair dealings within the market and make the lives of The People better?
Would you not want to limit the powers of government so that the above cannot happen to a co-op?
Should anyone in their right mind support Bernie?
Key Findings
Overall, the survival rate of co-operatives in BC is significantly higher than that of conventional, capitalist forms of business.
The 5-year survival rate of both operating and dissolved co-ops is 100 out of 150 co-ops (for which we have data) or 66.6%. This compares favourably to the 2008 Quebec study of survival rates of coops in that province of 64%.
By contrast, Industry Canada figures show a 43% and 39% 5-year survival rate for conventional business start-ups in 1984 and 1993 respectively. In BC, business start-ups in 1984 experienced a 38% 5-year survival rate.
From the article you posted.
Wow, how impressive.
I would think that most on this forum would have a raging hard-on for the success rate of the business structure of Co-Ops. But then you realize efficiency isn’t what they’re after. It is defending an ideological dogma that matters most. Evidence and truth are to be dismissed as inconsequential.
Co-Ops are far more socialist than private business where the few control the many. In a Co-Op it is essentially 1 person 1 vote.
Or they acknowledge co ops have weaknesses that can make them inferior to traditional business.
Why don’t you tell us. If co ops are more successful (lol) and survive longer, why are people not opening more of them? Because if there’s no down side what’s the problem, right?
And they should be able to do what they want within the law. I have absolutely no problem with that.
Socialism means government ownership of private enterprises, including co-ops. That is what we are against.
Co-Ops pay their taxes.
And when more social programs are passed like Medicare-For-All, think of all that money saved. Taking on the bloated military budget, etc.
He is currently the most popular politician around. Most likely he’d of won the Primary if it wasn’t for the criminals in the DNC and the Hillary camp. And then he would have gone on to defeat Trump in the general election as most polls had him double digits ahead of Trump.
Good for you. You’ll have a better chance at being a success.
Lol. a) it looked a whopping 150 businesses over like a 10 year period. You, of course, don’t understand why claiming they’re more successful is absurd. B) no one here opposses co-op.
That will be difficult to do if he decides to run again.
I’m not about to waste my time educating you in the US tax system, again
