New Business Failures

Someone should just introduce him that kungfu where people get thrown backwards by your inner energy or something. Let him go troll the combat forums screaming about evil Shaolin monks.

He 100% believes in Ki and chakras and other bullshit.

I’m really not surprised. That shit is like a gateway drug to lots of even more ridiculous beliefs lol.

Don’t mock the Dim Mak! It killed Bruce Lee!!!

Now zeppy boy is going to say we all like Gordon Gekko because we condone the criminal acts he committed in the movie. Like we support mass murder because we like Arnold in Commando.

I doubt Zep’s mom has let him watch Commando.

Cliche aside, it’s a game changer for sure.

It’s a cliche for a reason. I’m expecting to come out the other side a different person. Hopefully for the better lol

Yea man - That’s about the sentiment I am getting from other places too … it’s helpful for preparing my expectations

Best advice I can give, make sure you find a way to maintain your sense of self as you juggle your new priorities because, as the father, your basic emotional and physical needs will come in last place for the foreseeable future.

Me personally, I need at least a little bit of personal time a week. It took me a while to figure that out, but once I did life has been much better.

Unfortunately, that means I get up at 4 AM during the week to do whateverthefuck I want. I usually exercise in some fashion, but recently I’ve been playing video games as well (sometimes I draw or work on my side businesses. Sometime I read). I’m just generally happier when I get that time to myself.

Also, I think I already mentioned this to you but it’s worth repeating, don’t feel bad if you don’t have an instant connection with the baby. I didn’t really bond with either of my boys until probably the 6-month mark and I felt like complete shit (with my first) because of it. Then, it just happened. I don’t know the exact moment, but you just connect with them and it’s all good after that.

Yea man, I hear ya. Both my wife and I have talked about this and are in understanding we’ll both probably want/need some time to ourselves. I already get up super early, also 4am where I work out/lift, read, practice piano, etc…

I’ll probably end up doing morning feedings once he’s ready for the bottle during this time as well. I like getting up early - it’s, not to sound pretentious, tranquil.

You did, but it helps to hear. I’m expecting not to only for the simple fact that that he’ll be tabula rasa - he won’t have experienced the world aside from what can be experienced in the womb - and even then, he’s developing; My expectations aren’t to have him regard me in any way. I do have a suspicion I’ll be a bit overwhelmed emotionally once he’s born but we’ll see what happens.

This is actually a great way to put it. It’s the only time life is really quite so to speak.

The birth is definitely emotional, but that emotional high was short lived for me anyway.
