Maybe it’s easier to acquire land from “a tax cheat” than fight someone in court over Eminent Domain ?
I mean that’s a huge fucking desert out there, shit I drove through it not even a month ago going to Vegas. Why did Reid fuck with THIS guy’s land ? As if he couldn’t find another plot of land to use ? And this guy hasn’t paid those fees in what, 20 years or so ? So why go after him NOW ?
Shit don’t smell right.
I’m guessing they needed his water rights (I would bet money on it) Power projects, even solar need massive amounts of water for cooling.
Water is 900 million times more valuable than plain land in the Western U.S.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requires securing water rights before even allowing the permitting process to proceed.
This is why they are giving him the squeeze.
(Full disclosure, my company develops renewable energy projects)
Excellent insight. That helps it to make a lot more sense.

Folks need to a look at a map and then look at the Federal Court’s summary judgment.
First, it ain’t “this guy’s land.” It ain’t this guy’s water. It was denied him by either the BLM or by the Authorities of Clark County (in the 1990’s, with no reference to Harry Reid at the time.)
Second, after his cattle were excluded–legally–from the Bunkerville allotment (to the west of the Virgin Valley) he trespasses further to the east and south. (Gold Mesa and others.)
Third, Harry Reid and son’s skullduggery stands alone and apart as a piece of larceny. Even if Bundy had not trespassed and defied Federal judgments, Reid should be put under indictment.

Most likely a lack of intellectual rigor on my part, but when I see an apple pie I don’t see apples, flour, eggs, butter, sugar, etc.
I just see an apple pie.
Constituent parts or as a whole, this situation is a cow patty.
