NBA Playoff Thread

UUUHHHGGGG. My suns were undone by Kwame Brown of all people (I guess Kobe may have contributed a little). Got to give it to them. The Lakers played excellent basketball last night. Hope Mike Dantoni makes the Suns do box out drills til freakin’ midnight. The suns really need to work on that.

Marion gets his but I think that’s one thing that Stoudamire needs to work on. As big, strong and athletic as he his he should dominate the defensive boards. Make him watch some tape of Charles Barkley or Dennis Rodman.

Dude, I was WAY off. NBA fined him $50,000 for his conduct.
wow, the Warriors where acting like a bunch of babies though, any suspension.

True. He’s good at dunking, but needs to work on defense and round out his game. It seems to me he just wants to score, and not do the dirty work on D. Barkley and Rodman are good players to watch, as well as Bill Russell.

Exactly. Instead of Kobe vs. the Suns, the team came through and helped him out. They need to stop standing around watching him score and help him out. Kobe is great, but he can’t do it by himself.

Game 3 of the Lakers v. Suns demonstrated exactly what the lakers have to do to win against the Suns. Aggressive, annoying, defense. Not opening the Suns up to 3-point shots, and contesting every point in the paint.
That was an entertaining game last night.

You know, Doug Collins raised a good point (as he usually does) near the end. Basically saying that LAL dictated the pace of Games 1 and 3 and were in great position to steal Game 1 if Bryant doesn’t go 1-10 in that 4th quarter. And that the Lakers should be confident in their gameplan.

So maybe this willl be an interesting series after all.

Not that I know of, just the fine for Jackson. I don’t think Baron Davis got a fine, because he left the court in a timely and proper manner.

If Kobe’s teammates would have stepped it up in the 4th quarter of game 1 like they were supposed to, it would be Lakers 2-1 instead of Suns 2-1.

That win was a huge confidence boost for them.

No suspension. And that fine seems about right compared to Heinrich’s 25k for throwing his mouthpiece into the stands.

Which to me is disguisting. Who wants something out of someone else’s mouth that has his slobber all over it? That was uncalled for, and nasty.

Friday, April 27 recap:

 1. Nets defeat 3) Raptors 102-89 - J. Kidd with a beastly triple-double (16-16-19) and VC with 37 to lead the Nets to victory. TJ Ford had 27 points, but the Raptors were playing catch-up the whole evening.

 2. Bulls defeat 4) Heat 104-96 - Ben Gordon had 27 and Luol Deng had 24 to go up on the defending champs 3-0. D-Wade had 28, Shaq had 23, but got little help from the rest of the team.

 3. Warriors defeat 1) Mavs 109-91 - Jason Richardson had 30 points and all Warrior starters scored in double figures to go up 2-1 on the Mavs. Josh Howard and Dirk Nowitzki had 20 points each.

TMONEY1’S NEAT-O STUD(S) OF THE NIGHT, SPONSORED BY T-Nation: The Golden State Warriors. The first repeat Neat-O Stud winner of the 2007 playoff season. The home crowd was pumped up, and the Warriors used the energy to play an awesome game. They need to keep it up.

Wow. Golden State just beat the Mavericks down! That would be a pretty incredible upset if Golden State took the series. The way things are going, it seems pretty likely. They beat them as badly as the Suns beat the Lakers.

Chicago has basically cinched their Series, along with Detroit. Meaning Detroit and Chicago will most probably face off in the semifinals, which should be a good series. I’m pretty sure one of those two will make it to the Finals, In which case, I’d rather see the Bulls.

NICE! WARRIORS are going to take the series, they will win the next game at home and I am sure they can pull out another one on the road.

I didn’t get to see the game (was out watching my buddies metal band) but just saw the highlights, Makes me fell happy to be a warrior fan! The East Bay has needed a home playoff game like that for more than half my life! The crowd looked PUMPED

Cmon tmoney, how can it be anyone other than Oakland’s finest, JKidd? You almost never see monster triple doubles like that. Amazing performance.

I really hope GS realizes Game 4 is also a must-win situation. They don’t have to win another game at DAL and they shouldn’t put themselves in the position of needing to.

good point, I wasn’t thinking and was thinking it was only 2 games at home and than on the road, duh its 3 in a row… whoops, Beating Dallas in 5 sure would send a shock

Saturday, April 28 recap:

 1. Pistons defeat 8) Magic 97-93 - Chauncey Billups had 25, Rip Hamilton had 19, and the Pistons have their first sweep since 1990. Dwight Howard had 29 and 17, but the Pistons were too much as a team.

 2. Cavs defeat 7) Wizards 98-92 - LeBron’s almost triple double (30, 9, 6) helped the Cavs go up on the Wizards 3-0. Antawn Jamison had another beastly game, 38 and 11.

 3. Spurs defeat 6) Nuggets 96-91 - Tim Duncan had 20 and 13 and Manu Ginobili added 19 off the bench to go up on the Nuggets 2-1. Carmelo had 28 and 12, and Allen Iverson added 20.

 4. Jazz defeat 4) Rockets 98-85 - Deron Williams had 25 and 7 dimes, and the Jazz were in control the whole game to tie the series at 2-2. Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady combined for 38 points.

TMONEY1’S NEAT-O STUD OF THE NIGHT, SPONSORED BY T-Nation: Deron Williams. His 25 points and 7 assists were instrumental in helping the Jazz win and send the series back to Houston all tied up.

I did choose Oakland’s finest…the Golden State Warriors lol. JKidd’s trip-doub was ridick, but I felt the Warriors win was more studly.

Sunday, April 29 recap:

 1. Bulls defeat 4) Heat 92-79 - Ben Gordon had 24, Luol Deng had 22 to sweep the defending champs. Dwayne Wade had 24, but him and Shaq were the only ones who did anything for the Heat the whole series. Bulls-Pistons next round. Should be good.

 2. Suns defeat 7) Lakers 113-100 - Three Suns had double-doubles to lead the Suns to a 3-1 series lead. Kobe had 31, and got decent help from his team, but the Suns were too much.

 3. Nets defeat 3) Raptors 102-81 - VC had 27 and Richard Jefferson had 23 to lead the Nets to a 3-1 lead. Andrea Bargnani had 16, but the Raptors were way behind the whole second half.

 4. Warriors defeat 1) Mavericks 103-99 - Baron Davis had 33 and another all around great team effort from the Warriors to surge past the Mavs and go up 3-1. Dirk Nowitzki had 23, and had a chance at the end, but couldn’t rally.

TMONEY1’S NEAT-O STUD OF THE NIGHT, PRESENTED BY T-Nation: Steve Nash. His 17 points and 23 assists (!!!) helped the Suns take care of the Lakers. Nash is showing why he is the two-time reigning MVP.

Man, that Warriors-Mavs series is amazing. I picked Dallas to win it all this year, but I’d like to see the Warriors move on. It would be interesting to see how they do in the 2nd round. That’s a fun team to watch.

WARRIORS!!! awesome game last night

it is a great serious just to see Charles Barkley so upset, stupid Charles Barkley.

Atleast he isn’t calling the Warriors midgets anymore
