So does Kobe want to be traded or not? Stay tuned.

HAHA you’re right chillain, I was just looking for a grand wrap-up on the playoffs. Sorry, I know you’re not a fan of the Spurs, but I had to give them their respect.
Who is your favorite team? You probably mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I forgot.
No doubt tmoney. I actually do respect what the Spurs have been able to accomplish. The only player I really dislike is Bowen’s dirty ass.
As for my own loyalties, I grew up right in the heart of the Showtime era. So I’m full-blooded purple and gold.

I gotcha. So what’s your take on the whole Kobe situation?

Good question. He keeps going back and forth, but I think his opinion is formed now. He wants to be traded, but I don’t think the Lakers are going to let him go. I think that if the Lakers trade Kobe, they will not get Kobe-like value in return.
I think it’s a lose-lose situation for the Lakers. In this situation, quality trumps quantity. Three average to good players do not equal one Kobe. He is the best player in the league, no question.
Even if he goes to the Bulls, the Bulls would have to probably give up Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, and maybe Kirk Hinrich. The Bulls have built a good chemistry with their current team, and breaking up that chemistry will put the Bulls at square one again. Although, the Bulls do have the salary room available for Kobe, because Ben Wallace is the only person for the Bulls making any big $$$.
I live close to the Chicago area, and I’ve heard a lot of people and read in the papers saying the Bulls should not go after Kobe, and that the team is in good shape as it is, but it will definitely be one of the more interesting stories of the off-season.
I haven’t read up on the latest news, but I’m not sure how serious he is and how much this is just King Kobe crying out for some of the attention that King James was getting.
The only thing I’m sure of is that the team will trade him before he can opt out (not for two more years I think) and leave them completely empty-handed. Just like they were able to get something for Shaquille.

Some pics of the Spurs celebration.

And last, but not least, my favorite pic…
Michael Finley: Respect.
Of all the Spurs players, I am happiest for Finley. He deserved this. After 12 years in the league, after being on all the Dallas teams that lost to the Spurs, after joining the Spurs and losing to Dallas last year in the playoffs, it finally paid off.
Great player, great teammate, great man. All due respect. Congratulations Michael Finley, your time has come.
EDIT: This is my favorite pic. I forgot to add it to the previous post that says ‘my favorite pic.’ My apologies.
Thanks for the great pics tmoney. Loved them. I totally agree with you on Finley. He has been a great addition to the Spurs made even sweeter by the knowledge that Cuban is paying the bulk of his salary while he plays for us. Sweet!
I wish I knew how to cut and paste links, but I’m an old fart and can’t figure it out. But I suggest taking a look at Charley Rosen’s post-NBA season awards. I especially would like to direct Chillains attention to the Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda award. It is at foxsports.com.

Oh yeah, that’s right, I forgot that Cuban is still pretty much paying for Finley. I guess money CAN buy championships haha.

Thanks for the heads up DD, just read it. Good stuff. Here is the link for anyone else who is interested:
Is it just me, or does it look like Andrei Kirilenko is about to throw up in that picture lol.
Deputy, the easiest way to cut and paste links is to click one time in the address box until the whole website address is highlighted (or double click until the whole thing is highlighted), right click and select ‘copy’. Go to whatever site you are going to (for instance, T-Nation), and in the big ‘message’ box on here, where you type your post, right click again and select ‘paste’. That is the easiest way to do it.
Allright, the NBA Playoffs are over and all the awards have been handed out, so it’s time to close this thread out.
Again, I want to thank everyone who posted and viewed the thread, and look forward to doing it again next year.

I hear you tmoney, but deputydawg called me out with an entertaining article so I have to respond in like fashion. ANd I’ll draw his attention towards the section on Bruce Bowen:
You guys may agree that the link does provide a suitable end to this thread.
Sorry about that last post fellas. I quickly realized I prefer tmoney’s ending. See you guys next year when Bryant and O’Neal (Jermaine) or Bryant and Artest make another deep playoff run for the Lake SHow.

No sweat chillain, no need to apologize. I can talk hoops all day. When you love basketball as much as we do, it’s a year-round thing. Yeah, Rosen’s article was pretty good, he’s a good writer.
I’ll close it out one more time.
