Unfortunately, everyone seems to do this now.

BTW what’s happening with the Clippers? My brother was telling me that the owner put the blame on chris paul for why Vinny was fired. Is this True? The retard Stephen A Smith was also saying that Chris Paul and Blake Griffin have beef.

Im not sure, i literally quit paying attention to the Clippers the moment they were knocked out of the playoffs. Ill have to look into this now.
ESPN wrote:
Sterling told the Times that Del Negro “is a wonderful man” and that he’s “sad about the whole thing.”

Sterling was asked by the Times if Del Negro was fired “just to hang on to Chris Paul.”

Sterling said: “I always want to be honest and not say anything that is not true. So I’d rather not say anything. But you know, the coach did a really good job. I think he did. And I liked working with him. There are just factors that make life very complicated and very challenging.”

The Times then asked Sterling if it was “off base” to say the “players are now calling the shots.”

“No, you’re not off base,” Sterling said. “This is a players’ league, and, unfortunately, if you want to win, you have to make the players happy.”

Sterling later told the Times, “If you have special players, and special players think that they know the best opportunity to win, you have to support them.”
Thoughts on the NBA being a player league?

Edit: I only follow these threads during the post season, so if this has been discussed, then just ignore me.

I watch a lot of sports, but I’ve never seen so many people complain about officiating as much as they do with basketball. Is it because it tends to be more subjective? I watch a lot more baseball and there are a few bad calls every now and then, but basketball fans make it sound like every game is fixed.
the nba has a reputation of being a bit more concerned with entertainment than the integrity of the competition. From the Patrick Ewing draft being fixed, to the MJ rules, to the kings/lakers fix, the suns/spurs bench clearing situation, cavs getting Kyrie after lebald left, CP3 trade to the lakers being veto’d, #1 pick going to new orleans while the franchise was owned by the league among other reaons.

Ok, I know i’m a little late on the reply since I was out of town, but… So if the NBA has a reputation doing this and some of you guys believe it, then what fun can it be to watch it then. I mean, if you think the league is fixed then they are going to give Miami the game tonight because nobody would care about a Pacers vs. Spurs finals. If that is the case, then the outcome already has been determined so why watch?

Honestly I only watch the NBA during playoffs time. College basketball is way more exciting in my opinion.

Still going to root for the Spurs and my boy Leonard.

Don’t worry guys I got the posts for everyone handled: Fix is in, Hibbert’s 3 fouls is a joke, 8 vs 5, I knew the Heat would have this one handed to them, Stern just pulled it out to 7 games for extra money(and didn’t extend the Memphis/SA series because ESPN doesn’t like money and asked for their series to be a sweep so they had more time to broadcast Softball).

I hope people aren’t being serious about these games being fixed. You are telling me the players can make and miss at will whenever they want. I understand refs could do a little but come on now.

What’s wrong with Lebron’s character though? Yeah, I hated him towards the end of his Cleveland days, and his first year in miami. But he’s seems completely different now. Way more mature and humble imo. But I’ve honestly only watched him during the playoffs, so i could be wrong.
When did leaving a team to try to win a championship become a bad thing? Players use to go to the team that offered them the most money. Fans got upset because they thought all the players cared about was money and not winning. Now we got players like LeBron doing the opposite thing and people still get upset at them. I mean to me the ultimate goal of any sport is to win the championship.

Roy Hibbert already knows exactly what he’s working on in the offseason. George going to keep improving, Granger coming back healthy, and Hibbert sounds super motivated. I dunno how they’re going to handle West being a free agent and their need for a starting PG(Hill needs to come off the bench IMO), but Pacers should be back contending next year with CHI.

YUP, gonna be exciting to see who takes the East next year.

I was at game 6 when the pacers won in the nosebleeds lol

We screwed ourselves when we for rid of collison

'Bron is the all-time NBA leader for points per game in Game 7s, a tenth of a point ahead of Michael Jordan.

Ya know, i’m not even surprised the heat won. After all they have their big three.

As a lifelong Miami fan I need to say this. We have to ship nosh after the season for a legit big.

The East will be very interesting next year. With Grainger and Rose coming back the Bulls and Pacers can compete with Miami. Especially if D-Wade continues to deteriorate (physically and mentally).

The calls weren’t that bad last night. The Pacers just played like shit. 15 turnovers in the 1st half and they weren’t boxing out. I don’t know about Vogel’s decision making during this series either. The sub’s at the end of game 1 cost them the series IMO. Also, why does he continue to put George on Lebron? It gets him into foul trouble and his offense suffers on this match up. They’re getting help in the paint from Hibbert so what’s the difference between Stephenson or George guarding him on the perimeter? Neither one can guard him without help.

Easy. Trade West for Jason Kidd. We’ll take him off your hands…

Trolololol.

I mean Kareem and Wilt never jumped teams, neither did shaq… Not everybody gets drafted by the Lakers like Kobe and Magic… He took Cleveland as far as they would ever go and he moved on… People that hate him for that are just looking for a reason… Oh and if you hate complaining to the refs then you better ignore Duncan because he has never accepted a foul without complaining!!

LOL I am with you… They need an excuse for when their team loses… I mean if it was fixed why didn’t New York beat Indiana? How did San Antonio ever win anything? Oh and OKC? Do they really think the NBA wants OKC, SA and Memphis to be the top teams in the West?? LOL

I think it was pretty obvious from the beginning of the formation of the big 3, Wade’s attrition rate would be higher than normal.

The Heat may only have 1 more year of contention before Wade’s contract becomes albatross. I have a feeling Wade and Lebron’s relationship will deteriorate as the gap in their abilities widens over time. You’re already seeing it.

Still worth it… 3 straight trips to the Finals and probably a conference final or better next year.

carry over from the last NBA thread

Well I can see OKC. People want to see superstars like Durant play.
