Waitz, hate to beak it to you bud, but that first Heat title with Wade and Shaq was fixed. Dallas was not only the better team, but was up 2-0 when out of nowhere Wade starts getting 20+ ft’s a game. That boiled down to Stern seeing Wade as one of the big, young marketable “stars” of the new generation and making him a winner means more potential revenue.
No shit. We still got a championship out of it. Same reason I am not worried about the Heat losing this series. The difference between the Heat and Spurs finals versus the Pacers spurs finals in TV revenue is more than the GDP of some smaller nations.
Think of it this way, since I have been alive('86) only 8 different teams have won the championship none of which were small market teams and 4 of those teams won 3 or less and if Lebron doesnt disapear in the finals in 2011 that list is only 7 teams. in those 27 years 16 times a small market team made it to the finals with 0 wins. I think you can categorize San Antonio as a small market team.

It’s still Texas and considering how they acquired Tim Duncan in the first place only furthers my point of how crocked it all is.
Not like one of the refs who used to officiate the league fixed games or anything…

A levelheaded realistic basketball fan?

Meh, I just know how the American Jew mind works and as a member of the tribe I can tell you that David Stern is just doing what I would do so how couldn’t I hate on him for it?
Speaking of David Stern, pretty confident that I can accurately describe how a Jewish guy has been the biggest single influence in the style of today’s black youth. Here are the cliff notes:
Ron Artest punches a fat white kid.
To clean up the NBA’s thuggish image, Stern implements a dress code
Injured and non dressed for game high profile athletes now have to dress nice
Many hire stylists and begin to competitively one up each other through fashion
Kobe/Wade/lebron/dRose end up on covers of men’s fashion mags
Black kids now shop at H&M and wear skinny ties trying to mimic those pizza roll loving OKC boys who wear backpacks to press conference.
I like the attitude in here
Basketball, above all other sports, is the easiest to sway as a ref.
One foul here or there can completely change the game.
A couple of early ticky tack calls and your team is in the bonus with 8 minutes left.
Basketball is a multi billion dollar industry and stern is essentially a CEO.
He’s trying to make the most money possible for the NBA and the owners.
Why wouldn’t you fix the draft or free agency or a series or two in order to make that happen?
As much as it sucks for us fans it makes sense from a business standpoint
The NBA is a business

You’d be wrong. San Antone floats between the sixth and seventh largest city in the country. It’s also the only city I’ve ever seen other than Portland, OR (in which I lived for about 6 months) that BLEEDS their pro teams colors. It’s hard to put into perspective just how devout Spurs fans really are. Same with Portland. Only two cities in the whole country that show/share that kind of loyalty.

And John Starks 2-18 in Game 7…cant mention the 94 finals w/o that. Had nothing to do with Houston’s perfection, moreso Riley’s insistence of leaving him out there and not putting in Rolando Blackman.
Your still my boy John
Starks’ had an awesome series until that game, and had what appeared to be on open 3 at the buzzer to win it ‘till Olajuwon came out of nowhere to block it and seal the W. Maxwells’ D can’t be understated for the game either.
