NBA 2012 - 2013

Heck of a game, but wow you gotta feel for GS and their fans who absolutely “deserved” to hold on for that road win.

And speaking of those “most deserving” fans, we should also mention easily the “least deserving” fans in any American sport (ie. SF Giants)

Yeah, Warriors are looking incredible this post-season. In my opinion they are the favorite for a conference championship.
You’re kidding me, right? I’m a huge fan and all, but given their history against San Antonio, if they can win Game 1 that would be practically as improbable as going to the NBA Finals! They’ve lost something like 30 straight in San Antonio.
Not today son!

If you ever sat through an extra-inning night game on a Tuesday in Candlestick Park you wouldn’t call us Giants fans undeserving. Barry Bonds was reviled here in the Bay Area and still is. Unfortunately, the only 42,000 people who liked him happened to show up at the ballpark each night. If you want to continue talking shit about a team that you’re clearly jealous of, take it over to the appropriate forum for it.

Ooooh SHIET

Well game one didnt work out lol. I dont know man, i just get the feeling that they are capable of some Cinderella type shit this season.

And i dont believe that they are the betting favorite by a long shot, but i have this feeling that they are gonna make an upset here.

We will see, if they get past SA i dont think Memphis or OKC without Westbrook can beat them in a 7 game series.
DBCooper wrote:
Holy FUCK. The Warriors just plain pissed that one away. They’ll probably get blown out by 25 in Game 2 now. That was their chance and they fucking BLEW it.

I dont care for GSW or SA, so its unusual for me to give a shit about this sort of thing, but i was nothing short of shocked and frustrated watching how that one played out.

I hope this series is short at least.

Anyone expect upsets in the NYK-BOS and HOU-OKC series at this point?
Nope. I think the Knicks got humbled after that stupid dress in black shit and I think they’ll be focused tonight. It won’t get to a game 7.

OKC is still much better than Houston even without Harden. They’ll close it out tonight too.

The one upset you will see is Bulls over the Nets. I’d like to see the Nets win but they don’t play with any heart. They barely beat the Bulls last night even with 3 Bulls not 100% with the the flu. They were handing that game over last night. They’re lucky they won. That series should have been over in 5 games. They made Nate Robinson look like a superstar this series.
Right on the money here, sammy_sneed.

Keep it up!

Thanks bro!

Fuckin West Coast games. When I went to sleep around 11:30 EST, the Spurs were down double digits and weren’t making any headway. It sucks I have to be up 6am every day.

I missed the Heat game because I play basketball every Monday night. Did they have an off night or did the Bulls just play that good?

Daaaaaaaaaaa Bulls!

Derrick Rose should be ashamed of himself.

yup.

ftr I am a die hard miami fan. pissed about last night, but I am far from sweating. Kudos to the bulls for bringing it. Nate Robinson is standing 7 foot tall today.

As a Chicago fan im torn.

There’s a big part of me that sort of agrees with him, in that he shouldnt risk coming back in the middle of a major playoff series and potentially reinjuring himself if he isnt 100%, or at least doesnt feel he is.

There’s another part of me that thinks hes being a pussy and if he was playing, the Bulls might actually be able to win a Championship this year. Look what theyve accomplished in his absence.

Miami started off flat in the first for sure. Came back in the second, but really didnt start putting things together until after half time.

However, the Bulls really shut down there transition game, which is obviously going to be the key to this series for them. On top of that, Bulls D was all around fantastic, Jimmy Butler made Lebron work for every single shot, and Robinson just went off. They also managed to move the ball very well enabling Belinelli to get a couple game-changing threes in at key moments that kept the Bulls in the game at times when it looked like Lebron and the Heat were about to take over.

I guess we’ll see for sure if they just had an off night in game 2. Hoping Bulls can keep up this pace with their lack of back up right now.

by the way, ive been arguing that George Karl deserved coach of the year all season (only team to record that many wins without a single super star), but at the risk of sounding biased, i have to say Thib’s deserved it again. There isnt another coach that couldve overcame this much adversity in a season, and made this group of guys into what it is. No one else could have brought them this far. Even if Miami wipes them out in 5 after last nights game, its still incredible.

Ginobli for PRESIDENT!!!

For what little its worth, I wouldn’t include you amongst the masses to which I referred. Your background and knowledge of the game is a rare thing amongst the typical, bandwagonish majority.

Meanwhile I’ve got several, smug-as-fuck, Johnny-come-lately-thus-entitled “fans” of SF who suddenly act as if they now know the game. To listen to these clowns explain this past weekend’s sweep as if it has some basis in “baseball logic 101”… look, I’m not saying I know baseball inside and out, but I damn sure know that they don’t.

Hence spoiled and undeserving, and I would argue that this doesn’t describe a small minority neither.

is this box score right? did indy just go the first 6 min of the 4th without scoring a single point?

Durant with some seriously impressive stats last night against Memphis. 35 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 blocks i believe it was. He’s only the 3rd player (after Lebron and Melo) in the last 5 seasons to put up those kind of stats in the post-season.

We’ll see if he can keep it up, cause he’s gonna need to. Ibaka and Perkins were nullified offensively, OKC was able to out-rebound memphis on offensive rebounds better than i expected, a lot of that was thanks to Durant and Martin though.

And Martin has been impressive, 25ppg in his last 2 outings, plus 7 rebounds last night.

This is gonna be a fun series to watch.
Perkins is permanently nullified offensively. He sucks lol.
what does he do for them? i guess his screens are good, which most say are illegal. I guess he does a pretty good job making mean faces to the opposing team and refs. (doesnt seem to be very effective though)

Hes good at looking stoic…having a hard time thinking of much else… Too unathletic to hang with elite big men and too slow and big to guard teams when they run small. On top of that, shit offense.

Thing about questionable picks/screens is that they can’t call all of em.

And the value of six (hard) fouls goes way up when its postseason tempo.

But as far as any meaningful minutes go, of course you’re right.

Couldn’t tell ya as I only tuned in for 4th quarter + extra of the late game.

I assume both MIA and SA came out flat off the long layoff, but these Game2’s will likely tell the truer story…

Yeah, the anticipation is killing me. Trying not to get my hopes up in fear that Miami may come out and steam roll the Bulls, but its hard not to after that game 1.
