My TRT Story So Far. Need Advice

Man, thanks so much and sorry about the confusion. This (including forums) is all so new to me. I actually thought I knew “something” about trt but looking at you I’m like… Ok I’m taking THIS guys advice.

The stickies contain the tribal knowledge, more info than can be put into posts in your thread. It will take a while for you to go through.

got chya!

Ok guys, update on what’s been going on. I just recently (yesterday) had my blood taken for lab results for TT and Prolactin levels (that’s what my doc wrote labs for). I didn’t mention but I’m paying out of pocket for everything (no insurance for natta thing) so I spoke with Urologist over the phone about my issues I.E water weight, feeling emotional (depression, anxiety) no libido, weak erections, weight gain around my waist and chest area etc (I can tell my E2 is high) and doc talked about prescribing an A.I on my next visit which is 1 week from now.

I know everyone is telling me I need to get labs done but I think my doc is being kind about the fact that I don’t have insurance and am paying $$$ for this. I’ll update what happens later. Anyone give some advice on taking an A.I without knowing exact E2 and FT levels? I’m trying hard to save $

Unfortunately there’s no easy way. Managing e2 if necessary with an AI is like hitting a moving target. Typically most start with 1 mg adex(arimidex/anastrozole)/100 mg of test. You stay on that dosage for a few weeks and then follow up with lab work.

If your e2 = 33 at 1mg adex you would then want to take 33/22 1.5 mg adex since 22 is believed to be ideal for e2 on this site. If your e2 comes back at 10 then the dosage would be 10/22 0.45 mg adex per week.

Anecdotal, not sure about the science, but, on the recommendation of my TRT doc I take 200mg of Grapeseed extract as an AI - I’m on 150mg E7D and my E2 runs about 15 normally. Until you can get on Anastrozole, it might be worth a shot. You can buy it at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid.

Good luck.

Hey cool brother. I haven’t herd of that before. Interesting. How do you feel being on trt now with normal E2 levels? Before TRT I felt like utter sh#t! Then once I started my 200mg test (split dosing) per week I feel … Better as in “more energy, less fatigue, less brain fogg” but still feel like sh#t such as "my energy is a lagging energy (meaning I have the energy to do stuff now just mentally no motivation), bad sleep (waking up during the night), water weight, NO MUSCLE MASS/TONE increase which was one of my biggest hopes of starting trt. I feel better and feel like crap too.

@system
yeah it makes sense that it’s like hitting a moving target. IDK the true reason for why he won’t test my FT and E2 levels. I’m pretty sure he is going to prescribe me an A.I but why he won’t test for it? idk

I feel great on TRT, but it took me about six weeks to see a difference and about six months before I saw any body comp changes, so stick with it.

According to this http://www.nebido.com/en/hcp/research/testosterone-research/time-course-of-biological-effects-of-testosterone-replacement-therapy.php?WT.rss_f=healthcare_professionals%2526WT.rss_a=Time-course+of+biological+effects+of+testosterone+replacement+therapy%2526WT.rss_ev=a

you won’t see composition effects until 9-12 months but they continue to peak for awhile. I think it happened sooner than that for me, but everybody’s different.

You’ve answered your own question. Dump the urologist and find an anti aging doc who administers TRT for a living. He’s not addressing the problem entirely and no doc should give you weird vibes for asking questions. He sounds like a grumpy old man who has done things the way he has always done them and won’t change his ways.

Thanks guys. Well my latest lab results came back and my total T serum came back at (1068 ng/dl)
but my prolactin came back this time at (62.7 ng/ml)

The nurse told me I’m getting transferred over to the hospital to get an MRI in case of a tumor which could take at least 2 months before they see me. Aside from that I told the nurse straight up the way I’ve been feeling and I asked if I could get an aromatise inhibitor prescribed and she just shook her head and said “nope!”. I called them again to bug them about getting my free T and E2 checked and they said they’ll talk to the doctor about getting that checked and I asked again about an A.I and they said no and they said my psychologist can write a prescription for arimidex so I’m going to see if he’ll do it. I may even just see if he’ll write a script for my FT and E2 levels to be checked too since he’s way cooler than the nurse bitch I’ve been forced to deal with. But aside from that they did say my high prolactin could be the cause for all these side effects but they’re going to keep me on Testosterone since it seems to help.
