I think I’m just switching to eod. I’ll consider titrating the dose in the future if needed.
On a related note: I’m wanting to get smaller needles for doing eod delt injections. My wife, a nursing student, swears that a 1/2 insulin needle will not be certain enough to hit the delt in an IM. I don’t know my body fat but it’s probably somewhere around 20%. How certain are we that these shallow IM injections in the delta are actually IM and not SubQ?
When one injects more frequently, levels decline less between injections and starting at the same dosage could easily see levels higher. This guy is having sides and injecting more frequently and reducing the dosage has the best chance at resolving his issues.
I do it all the time, it’s called shallow IM. You’ll make a believer out of your wife soon enough.
It’ll bring down the peak a bit too. My argument is simply we don’t know what’s causing the side effects, why adjust 2 things when you can adjust 1 unless there’s some demonstrable reason and we don’t have that.
@scoremonger are you feeling any better?
We, who’s we? "I"see it all the time, this isn’t my first rodeo. It’s obvious these peaks are too big for him, he even states these sides are experienced 30 hours post injection, it’s pretty clear what’s going on.
Too early for me to tell. My pulse/hot flash/insomnia/bloating issues are primarily on the 2 days following the injection. Since I just switched to lower eod injection today I don’t know what to expect. I’ll report back on how it goes. As @systemlord mentioned, I might have to also lower the dose. I really want to avoid that at least until bloodwork indicates. I’m already only on 100mg/week which seems pretty low compared to what others are at.
@scoremonger When I went from an EOD protocol (20mg per shot) to an 7mg daily protocol, I got the about same Total and Free T numbers (407 ng/dL versus 417 ng/dL on daily), only estrogen was 27 points lower (53->26) and the dosage was 31mg less.
We is everyone here including you. You’re confusing possibly or likely with certainty.
Wow. That’s helpful man. Really appreciate everyone’s knowledge on this forum.
I’m 5 wks in (starting today) on 100mg in 2 50mg IM shots/week. No AI or HCG. I feel like I’m retaining a lot of water (up about 10lbs from when I started) and having ongoing issues with a bounding pulse. It’s taken some time to identify what this is. Has anyone had similar experiences or any knowledge about this. It’s more significant the two days following injection. Seems to hit a high about 30hours post injection (I’m guessing as my t levels go up). I know without labs it’s tough to speculate. I’ll reach out to my pcp for labs next week (6week mark). Should I not work out? It makes it significantly worse. Any help is appreciated.
Firstly… WHY do people keep creating new threads about the same topic… this still relates to you’re TRT thread, just make a post on you’re own thread individually created to talk about you’re experience… don’t create an entirely new thread…
Secondly beta adrenergic receptor upregulation/sympathetic nervous system dominance. If you’re like me and had this issue before TRT/AAS intitiation (here we are talking about just TRT) then it’ll get exponentially worse to the point of requiring beta blockers as it’ll skyrocket generalise anxiety levels. However the good news is, for the average individual (even if prone to this side effect) it tends to even out as the body down regulates beta adrenergic receptors in order to re attain homeostasis (this only goes so far though, if you’re on 1500mg test weekly… forget about it)
If it doesn’t level out, autonomic dysfunction may be managed with a dosage reduction or medication. Check BP though, make sure that’s in check (water retention tends to increase BP)
That’s why I copied and pasted the reply in his other thread, I figure this thread wouldn’t exist any longer.
Keeping thread together provides context.
I didn’t realize this should be linked up with my other thread. But I do now. Thanks. And thanks for the helpful comment.
Switching to eod dramatically improved my symptoms. I’m all in now. Feeling really good. I am still wanting to think through best practices for eod injections in terms of needle length, gauge, injection locations etc. some of you guys do shallow IM in the delts. Where do you get your needles? Also is it hard to draw the oil in such a small gauge needle?
Also I’m curious where I can get needles for a good price. Thanks for your help guys.

EasyTouch® U-100-29G, 1cc/mL, 1/2" (Box of 100) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P11F21N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VYlqEbC5KP4ME
Alright @dextermorgan I grabbed those from Amazon. I imagine it’s a pain to draw the oil through that gauge. Any tips? I’ve heard folks set it down and come back later. Are air bubbles a problem (more or less than larger gauge draws)?
I use a 30g of that same syringe and it takes about 1 minute 45 seconds to draw 0.325ml, just for reference. I am using the “real” pfizer T.
I usually inject a little more air into the vial than I’m pulling out to try to get a little pressure in the vial to help push the oil out. Not sure it helps but that’s what I do.
Bubble wise… haven’t really had any issues. I start to draw for a few seconds, then inject the T and air back into the vial to get the last bit of air out, then pull the plunger all the way back and wait. I sometimes end up with a tiny bubble at the top but just flick the syringe like movies show people doing and squirt the bubble back into the vial if it’s an issue. Injecting some air isn’t going to hurt anything though, so it’s not a huge deal
I’ve found that I can pull the plunger all the way back and there’s enough friction to hold it all the way back, so I don’t have to actually hold it the whole time.
Or… some people backfill small syringes with a larger one. There are some videos on YouTube showing how it’s done
Thanks! Backfilling seems like a hassle. My t-cyp seems pretty thick. It might be tough or just take longer I guess.
Usually people backfilling will do like a weeks worth of syringes at a time so then you can be quick about it each day (or however often you inject). Kind of like meal prepping I guess.
I do like that and would be interested in doing something like that to speed things up.
I just take the bottle of T and warm it in my hand (grasp in palm and enclose fingers around) for 30 secs while I do something else. The warmer it is the faster it draws. It doesn’t take long.
