I was under the impression you want estrogen lower, not increase higher. The high estrogen is causing the water retention and blood pressure issues, FT–>E2 and your thyroid is partly to blame.
Wouldn’t his lower SHBG also be playing a role in this? Similar to your experiences I think?
Estrogen has a minimal impact of SHBG levels, but can increase it a little. My problem was I lost the metabolism boosting properties of thyroid hormones being iron deficient, my SHBG actually increased on TRT which is not common. I was insulin resistant and was suppressing SHBG.
Thanks guys, this has been super helpful.
One thing worth mentioning is the bloods are not at trough but I will be getting new blood work next week and that will be a trough. I’ll post once i have those numbers.
I probably start with ED injections and see how well that works for 6 to 8 weeks and if E2 and sides are still high, I’ll look at lowering my dose.
I’ll also start looking into the thyroid a little more.
Daily injections was far more anabolic for me, I have heard others mention this as well, so it might increase demand on your thyroid. Don’t be surprised if thyroid labs look worse on daily injections.
I just meant that lower SHBG usually equates to higher free T, which could be converted to E2, leading to higher E2 opposed to DHT (depending on his quantity of aromatase enzymes).
It is a double edge sword.
So here are my latest results from my TRT doc, these were take at around 15 weeks in. Current Protocol is 100mg x 2 per week (total 200mg per week).
This test was taken at trough and is quite different from my last test from my GP (which was taken the day after my injection). The results from my GP are not included in the below table, which contain only my TRT docs tests, but you can scroll up to see it.
Doc is recommending increasing my T dose to 240mg per week as he believes Total T should be higher.
I believe (as has been recommended to me) I should switch to a daily protocol.
That’s wild that your free T is as high as it is and total T & estrogen are so low comparatively. As far as 240mg goes only one way to find out.
How do you feel at current levels?
I would describe how I feel as good but not great. TRT has helped me get rid of the worst things I was feeling. I no longer get exhausted and can now function even when I am tired. Libido went from non existent to good but still on the low side.
Honestly, I feel like I would expect somebody to feel going from a T level of 200 to 500.
Try upping your dose. You can always go back if needed.
