No there isn’t any, studies cost money and there’s no money in TRT which is why doctors learn nothing about it in medical school. Every doctor out there learns by experimentation on you, congratulations we’re all guinea pigs.
And with your own experience how was it to go to eod from every 3.5 days ? Is there that much of a difference? And when do you take bloodwork on that protocol?
Only one difference going from twice weekly to EOD, erections and libido 24/7, something that didn’t happen consistently twice weekly. I have 2 weeks to go before I can do blood work and feel great.
If your e2 is not in control does not matter how often you inject.
I will be getting my first post trt bloodtest soon .
This will be my bloodwork:
Iron: (was low need to check if it’s better now)
Ferritin
Serum Iron
%Saturation
TIBC
Transferrin
Testosterone:
LH
FSH
SHBG
Total testosterone
Free testosterone
Bio-available testosterone
Psa
Dhea-s
Hematocrit
Estradiol non-sensitive
(Sensitive test is not available here)
Am I missing something that could be useful ?
Is prolactin needed?
Can cortisol be useful?
I would like to check my thyroid too , even if I read the stickies i’m still confused with the tests .
Thyroid :
Tsh
Ft3
Ft4
Is that it ? Please tell me what to add so it can be complete or if something is not needed . Thank you
Don’t forget reverse T3, it Blocks free T3. I don’t see prolactin, prolactin can inhibit LH forcing LH low.
Do I need prolactin even if I already started trt ? And do i need reverse t4?
Hi Tucker, I see you stopped Venlafaxine. I take that too & ive just started tapering it down so I can stop that drug, as well.
How much were you taking & how long did you take to taper off it, please?
I was taking 150mg and i did it in two months but withdrawl was terrible . This med is poison for real! 2 months is really fast but I wanted to be off it as quick as I could. I would suggest to do it slowly if you can and see how you feel.
Yeah that’s hardcore. I once read “coming off it will make you curse your doctor was ever born” !!
Yes this is awful . I was dizzy for 2-3 months after stopping it and my eye was twitching all the time. Now everything is fine and i’ll never go back on this shit again. You can take a look at wellbutrin if you want . No side effects when stopping (for me at least) . Great energy booster and gave me a little more libido.
Yeah I once went to 3/4 of my dose, stayed there for a week, then took 1/2 of my dose & lasted a few days on that.
I had the brain zaps, my vision would stutter & lag behind moving my head, and I felt very aggressive & agitated for the few days I was on 1/2 the dose. It was fooking awful.
Within an hour of taking the usual full dose again I felt perfectly fine. They are very powerful drugs, really not to be taken lightly.
I’m now aiming to reduce the venlafaxine by 1/8 per month so taking 8 months to come off it. Just started last week!
Cool re Wellbutrin, I’ll look into that, thanks ![]()
I expect I’ll find out if I still need antidepressants, once I’ve got my hormones dialled in ![]()
I think that fish oil can help with the withdrawal symptoms . Also when I was on minimum dose (37.5) instead of doing 37.5 to nothing I opened the capsules . Was removing a little bit of the beads inside and close it back . I removed a little more each time until nothing!
Just giving a little update . Started 100mg divided in two doses a month and a half ago. Was going through a breakup that happened in december. Was feeling alright and focusing on other things. Now it seems that this week sometimes i’m feeling great and motivated and 5 minutes later i’m feeling like shit. Sometimes I feel like crying for no reason just because i’m desperate to feel like this. A year ago I was suicidal and it scares me cause I feel like i’m heading towards the same place I came from. I know I don’t have labs yet so we can’t speculate on the reason (i’ll have them in 3 weeks). But I was wondering if someone shares a similar story. I just don’t know if this is the person i’ve become and that i’ll feel depressed every now and then or if it’s something I can control. Thank you
A month and a half you should be feeling better since you’ve reached a stable state, it sounds like high E2. The excessive crying is a dead ringer for high E2.
I noticed I was teary eyed on 50mg twice weekly, for me it was more of a happy tearing and I seem to get overly happy and get laughing spells that go on for 30 minutes to an hour when my E2 is high. Then it turns to anger and it’s quite exhausting to say the least.
You might try 40mg twice weekly.
I will experiment with this right after my bloodtest results for sure . Also I noticed vertical lines on my nails and they seem to be cracking vertically. Is this a sign of something?
Sorry to hear it is not going that well for you… Just wanted to make a little update that may apply to you as well. I started at what my doctor prescribed 75mg/week divided in 2 doses subq. Still felt very depressed lack of energy so after i read alot I decided to bump my dose to 150 and after 2 months I started to feel better and better. I had to lower the dose to 75mg 5 weeks before blood and started to feel like crap after 2 weeks and after 4 weeks i was so down I felt like complete shit and experienced every depression symptoms. I just received my results from 75mg I it put me at total T of 5 in a 10 to 30 normal range!! I bet I would not even be in range with 100mg and thats the max dose my endo will prescribe. No hcg. Switching endo today. I weight 250lbs and workout 6 days per week dont know if it makes a difference about test
Hi guys ! I’m currently injecting thursday morning at 5:30am and sunday evening at 5:30pm. I was wondering if it’s ok if I skip tommorow night injection and I do a bloodtest on monday morning (around 7:30am) (a little more than 12 hours past usual injection. Will it affect my results too much (e2 specially)?
Do not miss injections, just inject after your labs.
Yes I will inject right after ! But I mean will it change drastically my results being 12 hours past injection time ? I’m pretty sure I have high e2 and I want my bloodtest to show it.
