My Doctor Prescribed TRT Protocol, Thoughts?

It should be noted… aside from fertility… there are other considerations to be had about trt

  • the treatment is lifelong. That baseline of 8.6nmol/l… if you ever have to stop using T for whatever reason (economic recession, war, medicine shortages)… that’s likely the BEST case scenario you’ve got in terms of recovery

  • do you have aspirations to become a competitive athlete? Without a discernable, pathological eitiology inducing your hypogonadism like a pituitary tumour, kallmans syndrome etc… forget about it. Wada has gone on the warpath provided your TUE is for testosterone. It’s almost impossible to be granted a TUE for testosterone, and even if it is granted… this entails ceasing the use of your testosterone for a good 6 months or longer…

Some state based athletic commissions have opted to outright ban TUE’s for testosterone. The Nevada state athletic commission banned TUE’s for TRT provided the athlete is competing in boxing or MMA.

I suppose the theory was… getting hit in the head repeatedly causes CTE and can damage the pituitary gland leading to hypogonadism. If you are a fighter and have low T perhaps it’s time to retire… but this outlook overlooks the many men who just have low T as a byproduct of environment or medical ailments.

  • how long is your doctor going to be around for? How likely is it that you’ll find treatment elsewhere if your doc retires?

In America perhaps

In my country (Australia) there is a HUGE stigma against testosterone replacement.

You likely do not need 200 mg T per week. That is a lot and many who use this amount or more are not actually doing actual TRT.

I’m reread your initial post. So you are only prescribed 300 IU of HCG per week? Did he even order an initial semen analysis and check your FSH and LH?

Is he a urologist or endocrinology? My doc is a urologist/andrologist. I suggest you see someone who is really in tune with this stuff.

Been 2 weeks now at 100mg twice a week. No amp, no effects yet. Maybe a bit of placebo with my lifts but nothing out of the ordinary yet.

Questions about syringes. how do you go about drawing your dosage back.

Say my dosage is 0.5ml and I draw to there, there is still another half a point in the tip, so essentially i’ll be injecting 0.55ml is this something I Should be adjusting? I do notice some wastage, so I came across a video on the TRT channel on youtube where you draw in a bit of air and let it float to the top of the oil so when you inject the bubble pushes all the oil out. Is this safe/good practice? They say air is no big deal in V-Glute.

Today I did my V-Glute shot, and that said bubble actually went to the middle of the oil during injection while my wife was administering it and i injected, then a bit of air then the rest of the oil.

Will I be okay? lol

Hey, been 2 weeks now on both.

No semen analysis. Hes not an urologist or an endo, but he specializes in hormones and is on it himself. I’ll run this course for about 6 weeks and see where my numbers are at, ive been educating myself everyday since posting my initial post, so if my numbers are out of wack, and depending on what he says in regards to them, i will def follow your advice and find someone else.

That’s a high TRT dose! You’re not very sensitive to androgens.

Yes. A little air is harmless.

Maybe too soon? Although today was the first day i really felt like shit, might be a bit of the flu from the fam tho, super lethargic, even pre-trt i never felt like this. I’ll ride the course. Still don’t wanna bang the wife. lol

Thanks Brick.
