It’s a good reminder that a non-insignificant portion of the country thinks, and acts like him. I’m not on any social media so his posts are a little insight into that cesspool of “discourse” which is where I’d guess most people get their political arguing done these days.

Well, I thought about make a thread out of this, but I figured at least on this topic, all most everybody here, would agree; I HOPE!
It’s about that “netflix” special movie “Cuties”. This thing is disturbing beyond belief. It is child porn disguised as being against child porn.
It was done in a way like somebody illustrating that it’s wrong to murder people by showing him murdering people.
Let me start by saying that this movie should be pulled immediately and all those involved should be arrested for child exploitation, assault and abuse.
This isn’t about cancel culture, this is child pornography.
No, I haven’t seen it, I have seen some very disturbing scenes where there is no fucking way I would watch the movie. I had to turn away from just the scenes shown on TV. It was gross.
My biggest issue, is unsurprisingly, is the media. Apparently, being appalled by child sexual exploitation is a right-wing talking point. You are a Qanon nut, a far-right extremist, a racist if you criticize this movie. So, for you leftists, this is what your party supports. Sorry, it’s just true. Nobody on the right is defending this movie and to be honest most people on the left are equally appalled. But the DNC machine, the left-wing media supports and encouraging watching the movie.
I cannot support any part of it, I want to point out the incredible hypocrisy and moral disgust.

For the record, I wouldn’t have heard of this if youtube talking heads passing themselves off as “independent journalists”(LOL) hadn’t been using this for clickbait.
And as another disclaimer, I’m not too hot about the MSM either.
Now, from what I’m getting from the movie, it is a critique of traditional Islamic culture practiced by certain muslim groups. Under Shariah Law practiced in some countries, a child as young as 9 years old can be lawfully married subject to approval by the relevant authorities. It isn’t common at all, and sometimes it is done for pragmatic reasons like preventing a parentless child from starving to death, allowing the child to acquire social status or state entitlements afforded only to family members and/or can lay claim to the spouse’s property etc, but it is provided for under the law.
I’m not in agreement with this. It is what it is. That’s all I’m saying. This movie seems to be critiquing a lot these issues and I see some allusions to what I wrote above in the plot outline. It is rare that a “progressive” movie has the balls to criticize Islam. How successfully it does this will be another topic for contention and it isn’t the point of my post since I haven’t seen it, nor do I intend to.
