Recently saw Bangkok Dangerous and Diary Of The Dead.
Both were pathetic-save the money.

Eagle Eye - somewhat suspenseful movie, until you realize that a super computer is controlling anything - “I can’t do that Dave.” Good action sequences, although none of it remotely believable. Fun movie to watch nonetheless.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - I had a hard time believing Brendan Frasier’s character had a 18-20 year old son. A lot of special effects, but not a lot of great action scenes. The one AWESOME thing is that I saw this in Blu-ray on a high-def tv. Way cool. Other than that the movie was blah.
Babylon AD - Going into this, I never read or heard anything about this gem. What a piece of crap. The entire movie I kept asking everyone, “What is going on!?” Nothing made sense, nothing was explained or ever explained. Big disappointment.
Karate Kid II - classic movie, even better when watching it with the kids.
“The Assassination of Jesse James”
Not bad. I was most impressed with Casey Affleck’s outstanding portrayal of Robert Ford… as well as the historical accuracy of the window panes.

I liked the movie. It sounds like you were lost on the concept.
Plot:
Scientist decides that the next step in human evolution is the ability to download current available knowledge into a FETUS meaning a person could be born with the knowledge that takes many of us a life time to gather.
Scientist creates baby with this ability yet also holds the belief that the true next step in evolution would actually be that child’s children…(ie. a technological virgin Mary).
He sends that child to hide in a monastery in Asia until she is 20 years old and then finds her, impregnates her artificially, and then tries to find her again for the birth of “The Perfect Twins”.
To get her back to the states (due to massive changes and destruction of the known government)they hire Vin Diesel as her body guard and escort. Thus the movie.
I didn’t find this hard to follow at all. In fact, if anything, I thought it was pretty much on the same level as movies like the Minority Report.
This was science fiction…and it was done well.
Gran Torino! Always been a huge Eastwood fan and this movie was a grand slam. Rare, very rare, for me to see movies I like this much. I admire who he is greatly.
D
Futurama : Bender’s Big Score
Futurama : Beast with a Billion Back
Futurama : Bender’s Game
Guess what show I like…
Equilibrium, Max Payne, both of the Harold and Kumar movies, Appleseed Saga: Ex Machina, Bleach Memories of Nobody and Snatch.
I’m probably forgetting a few…
Righteous Kill - Didn’t do anything for me. I thought it was slow and boring. Waste of a great cast.
Pineapple Express - Watched this with some friends last night. None of us really liked it. There were some funny parts, but I’m betting we all would have liked it better if we were all stoned.
Babylon A.D. - Good concept, bad movie. Even the director didn’t like it:

I liked that movie better the first time I saw it, when it was titled “Children of Men”.

Yeah, but Children of Men didn’t have a psychic walking encyclopedia as one of the main characters.
Babylon AD was based on the book “Babylon Babies”. There was no issue with children not being born anymore.
I don’t know…I guess I just liked the movie more than most.
Death Race. Unapologetic basic action movie based on the original. David Carradine even plays a voice-over cameo.
I’ve been in Blu-Ray heaven the past few weeks with -
The Dark Knight
IronMan
Tropic Thunder
Pineapple Express
Wanted
&
The Incredible Hulk.
And - I have Hellboy II: The Golden Army for tonight.
I have to say, I love Children of Men - awesome film. I haven’t seen Babylon A.D. but I’m a Vin fan, so I’ll put that and Death Race in the Netflix Q since I haven’t seen that yet either…

After reading that, I guess I should note that I got it on Blu Ray so there may be more footage added. I even watched the Director’s commentary and he never mentioned any of that.

seems to be hit or miss for people. I thought it was hilarious.
“You just got killed by a Daewoo…” LOL
umberto d - kind of sad, italian film directed by vittorio di sica from the 50’s. it was about an old man trying to hold on to his dignity and his dog. good.
the wrestler - good movie. roarke and tomei were great. they are each physically striking in an almost completely opposite way, yet what they are dealing with emotionally makes them similar. good casting, directing and writing. d. aronovsky redeems himself as i really did not like the fountain. evan rachel wood, too - dignity and choices and life changes… good soundtrack.
last week i saw the first tale of the body snatchers with kevin mccarthy. great and boy does it hold up…then again, i like every body snatcher movie i have seen.
there was a b-boy doc on mtv called the inner circle. it was about two break dancers. it was very good.

Well that makes sense. I’ll give it another try. For some reason I had a hard piecing everything together.
Watched Transmorphers last night. Downloaded it from netflix to my Xbox360. I was certainly expecting a B-Movie, this was just shameful. The story, aline robots take over the world driving humans underground. A group of human rebels comes to the surface to take the fight to the nearly indestructable robots.
If this move came out in 1970, the CG would have been terrible. There was a lot of 8-9 (hotness scale)Chicks in the movie, and a lesbian couple to boot. Nobody in the movie was older than 40 and there were no kids. The acting appeared to be the first foray into a real movie from the pits of porno for many of these girls. There was a girl fight.
The "invincible robots get tooled by about 10 humans who while they are shooting the robots with some plasma pulse rifles and pistols, are constantly engaged in conversation about day to day affairs. Also they say “copy” or “copy that” about 1000 times when someone talks to someone else. The robots that fly, conveniently land and stand still while the humans shoot them. The humans kill about 100 of these robots including one giant one who basically does nothing more than stand up and then get killed. Somehow the killing of these 100 robots free the entire world from all robots. I mean these thigs took over the world, yet killing this specific 100 of them causes the clouds to part and a blue sky to emerge for the first time in the last 100 years. Also, it’s not like they did a (months later) thing, not it was immediately after the big robot fell, they are all still standing out in the open battlefield, the clouds part and then dissapear, and everyone is just standing there smiling like idiots. Also there is a contrail from an airplane dominating most of the sky. So apparently, as soon as this robot was killed, they had airplanes up and traveling around the sky.
In the end I couldn’t possibly rate the movie as the worst movie of all time. I did laugh uncontrollably, but like the nerd in highschool, I wasn’t laughing with him, I was laughing at him.

You know, I’ve been debating renting Transmorphers for a while and after reading your review, I’m still unsure. ![]()

Movies like that are what made people notice Bale…especially after American Psycho.
I hope it continues, but as it stands, he seems to do movies because he believes in them and not just for the paycheck…for now.
